WHEREAS, the Clty of Lubbock has solicited bids for the remodeling of the
Kuykendall Building located at 19th Street and Texas Avenue into a facility to
house the Lubbock Health Unit; and
WHEREAS, such bids have been duly opened and evaluated; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and is hereby authorized and di-
rected to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock an Agreement between
the City of Lubbock and John R. Lavis, General Contractor, Inc., of E1 Paso,
for the remodeling of the Kuykendall Building at 19th and Texas Avenue into a
facility to house the Lubbock Health Unit, which Agreement is attached hereto
and which shall be spread upon the minutes of the Council and as spread upon
the minutes of the Council shall constitute and part t s Resolution
as if fully copied herein in detail.

Alternate No 1 includes the omiting_of the stucco
bid on the west side and portions of the north so

Alternate No. 2 includes the replacing of the specified metal
panels at the entrances of doors #1, #3, #5, and #8 with extruded
aluminum panels as specified.
Alternate No. 3 includes the removal of the existing sash
setting and glazing at the north and east sides of !the auditorium
and replacing it with new 6" steel studs, 6" fiberglass
installation. The studs are to be finished with 5/8" gypsum board
on the interior and stucco on self furring metal lath on rock lath
at the exterior.
Alternate No. 4 includes the completion of the copy room adjacent
to Reception #1. Included would be the west and north walls of the
space, door #22 A, and llinterior finishes including the acoustical
ceiling, the prefinished gypsum board at the west, north nd east
walls, base vinyl abestos tile flooring.
Alternate No 5 includes the increasing of the 1-1/2" foam roof
insulataion to 2-1/20.
Alternate No. 6 includes the removing and replacing of the
existing wood overhead door at the shop with new section steel
overhead door as specified.
"'-Alternate No. 7 includes the addition of millwork base cabinets in
laboratory and adjoining spaces shown hashed on the drawings. To b
included with these cabinets are all the electrical plumbing with
these cabinets.
Alternate No. 8 includes the addition of millwork wall cabinets .in
the laboratory area as shown crosshatched on the drawings.
Alternate No. 9 includes the ommission of the base bid millwork
cabinets in the laboratroy area as noted and the addition of
manufactured labratory base cabinets in there place. All
electrical and plumbing work will remain the same.
Alternate No 10 includes the addition of manufactured labratory
base cabinets in the labratory area as shown hashed on the drawings
To be included with these cabinets are all electrical, plumbing
lines and fixtures used in conjunction with these cabinets.
Alternate No 11 includes the addition of manufactured labratory
wall cabinets in the labratory area as shown crosshatched on the
drawings.
Alternate No 12 includes the completioon of the Conference Room
and Storage Room #3. The north and west walls of the conference
room will be finished in the base bid with 5/8" prefinished gypsum
board and 4" vinyl base.

Doors #30 and 131 will also be included in the base bid.
Alternate No. 12 will include the ceiling, wall, base and floor
finishes as scheduled on the drawings for the conference room an
stroage #3 as well as the structural framing for the solding
' partion and the track and folding partion as scheduled. Also
included will be the repalceing of door #115 and adding of door
#114.
Note that all manufactured labratory cabinets in Alternates #9, #10
And #11 will be selected for use with like cabinets and will not be
mixed with the millwork cabinets in the base bid and alternates #7 an
#8.
