RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION 1338 - 3/10/83

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock BE and is
hereby authorized and directed to make application to the
Governor's Office of General Counsel and Criminal Justice on
behalf of the City of Lubbock for FY84 Criminal Justice Project
funds for crime prevention, the Crime Eye Camera program and for
a computer assisted microfilm retrieval system.

Grant Proposal Evaluation

project.
To provide the Police Department with more timely criminal information.
A. Is this the fulfillment of an identifiable community goal? If so,

Lubbock's Goals for the 801s--Page 44, No. 8.
To develop the capacity for automated maintenance and retrieval
of crime record.
B. Is this the fulfillment of an identifiable community need? If so,
please provide quantifiable data studies, etc.).
The delay in Criminal Justice data prevents the apprehension of
criminals.
2. State indicators by which the staff and City Council might be able
to evaluate the program in order to determine that it has reached the
stated goals and objectives noted in No. 1.
The clearance rate for Part l crimes should increase with more timely
data.

No
6. Does the grant require any local match? If so, is the match in the
form of cash or an in -kind contribution?
Yes --cash. The Criminal Justice Division requires a 25% cash match
on all capital purchases.

Capital and Supplies
A. If capital, will it result in ongoing City operational costs7 if
so, explain in detail.
The cost for the supplies. New equipment could be utilized without
additional personnel.
B. If operating, is it a one time'grant which will result in any ongoing
City expenses if the program is to be continued in the future?
