RESOLUTION i
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that that portion of Globe Avenue
between the Slaton Highway U. S.84 and 66th Street hereinafter more particular-
ly described has heretofore been abandoned, vacated and closed and is no longer
necessary for street purposes or for any other purpose in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, the owners of said strip of land have requested that the City
execute to them a Quit Claim Deed to said strip in order to clear up any confu-
sion as to the title of said strip which now may exist in the deed records; and,
the City Commission finds that it is necessary and expedient and in the public
interest;that said Quit Claim Deed be executed; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK
SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed
for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to execute and deliver to Glenn Cabaniss
for a consideration of ONE AND NO f 100 ($1.00) DOLLARS the attached Quit Clai
Deed, the same being incorporated herein by reference for all purposes, con-
veying all its right, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land
lying in the City of Lubbock and State of Texas, and more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
A parcel of land out of Section 6, Block E, Lubbock County,
Texas; more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 1500 feet East and 37.5 feet South of
the Northwest corner of said Section 6, Block E;
THENCE South 252.85 feet to a point;

THENCE South 700151 East along the ROW line of U;S. Highway
14 84 a distance of 15.9 feet;
THENCE North along the East line of Lots 6 and 5 in Block 1,
Witt Addition, a distance of 258. 19 feet to a point, said paint
being 2.5 feet North of the Northwest corner of said Lot 5,
Block:.1, Witt Addition;

THENCE West 15 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Secretary-Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to attest the signature of the Mayor to said Quit Claim Deed affixing the
seal of the City of Lubbock thereto.

QUIT CLAIM DEED
THE STATE OF TEXAS (
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK (
That the City of Lubbock. a Homerule municipality of the County of
Lubbock and State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE AND
NO/100 ($1.00) DOLLARS to it in hand paid by Glenn Cabaniss of the County
of Lubbock and State of Texas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged,
do by these presents, BARGAIN, SELL, RELEASE, AND FOREVER QUIT
CLAIM unto the said Glenn Cabaniss his heirs and assigns, all its right title
and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County
of Lubbock. and State of Texas, described as follows. to-wit:
A parcel of land out of Section 6, Block E, Lubbock
County, Texas-, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 1500 feat East and 37. 5 feet
South of the Northwest corner of said Section 6, Block
E.
THENCE South 252.85 feet to a point;
THENCE South 70015' East along the ROW line of U.S.
Highway 84 a distance of IS.9 feats
THENCE North along the East line of Lots 6 and 5 in
Block 1, Witt Addition, a distance of 258. 19 feet to a
point, said point being 2.S feet North of the Northwest
corner of said Lot 5, Block 1, Witt Addition;
THENCE West 15 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, together with all and
singular the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner
belonging unto the said Glenn Cabaniss his heirs and assigns, forever, so
that neither it the said City of Lubbock nor its successors and assigns nor
any person or persons claiming under it shall, at any time hereafter, have,
claim or demand any right or title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances,
or any part thereof.

Lubbock County, Texas, on this day personally appeared DAVID C. CASEY,
