RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Commission found by virtue of Ordinance No. 3643 that !I
SY' portions of streets be abandoned, vacated and closed and were no longer needed I�
for street purposes; and, 1
WHEREAS, the owners of the strips of land have requested that the City exe-
cute to them, a quit claim deed to said strips in order to clear up any confusion
as to the title of said strips which now may exist in the deed records; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is necessary and expedient and
in the public interest that said quit claim deed be executed; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor be and is hereby authorized and directed for and
on behalf of the City of Lubbock to execute and deliver to Bert E. Sewell for and i
in consideration of the sum of ONE AND NO/100 ($1.00) DOLLARS a quit claim
deed to a parcel of land described as followa,to-wit:
A parcel of land out of Section 3, Block A, Lubbock County,. Texas,
and being a portion of an abandoned alley in Block 2,, of the Gordon
Bozeman Additionj more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most Southerly corner of Lot 13, Block 2 said
Gordon Bozeman Addition)
THENCE Northeasterly along Lots 13, 12, and 11, of said Block 2,
Gordon Bozeman Addition a distance of 134.6 feet to a point;
THENCE South 10.44 feet to a point; '

THENCE Southeasterly parallel to and 7.5 feet Southwesterly from
said lots 11,, 12, and 13, Block 2, a distance of 124.16 feet to a E
point; {
THENCE Northwesterly a distance of 7.5feet to the PLACE OF BEGIN-
NING
SECTION 2. However, that it is intended to include from the quit claim deed
the utility i easement executed of even date herewith on herein des-
cribed property.
SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary-Treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to attest the signature of the Mayor to said Quit Qaim Deed affixing the
seal of the Gty of Lubbock thereto.

QUIT CLAIM DEED
THE STATE OF TEXAS j
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK
THAT, heretofore the City Commission of the City of Lubbock. a home rule
municipality in the Coudy of Lubb?�c�, State of Texas, did, at a regular meeting,a
quorum being present, on the t day of December , 1961, appoint the
undersigned David C. Casey,,Mayor, to convey the certain tract or parcel of land
hereinafter described, reference being made to said Resolution of Appointment now
of record in book page 449 of the Minutes of the City Commission of the
City of Lubbock, exas; NOW H�FORE:
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
THAT the City of Lubbock, a Home Rule municipality In the County of Lubbock,
and State of Texas, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE AND NOI100 ($1.00)
DOLLARS,, to it in hand paid by Bert E. Sewell, of the County of Lubbock, State of
Texas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do, by these presents, BAR-
GAIN, SELL, RELEASE AND FOREVER QUIT CLAIM, unto the said Bert E. Sewell
his heirs and assigns, all its right, title and Interest in and to that certain tract or
parcel of land lying in the County of Lubbock and State of Texas, described as follows;
to-wit:
A parcel of land out of Section 3. Block 4 Lubbock County,Texas,
and being a portion of an abandoned alley in Block Z, of the Gordon
Bozeman Addition, more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most Southerly corner of Lot 13, Block Z, said
Gordon Bozeman Addition;
THENCE Northeasterly along Lots 13, 12, and 11. of said Block Z,
Gordon Bozeman Addition a distance of 134.6 feet to a point;
THENCE South 10.44 feet to a point;
THENCE Southeasterly parallel to and 7.5 feet Southwesterly from
said lots 11, 1Z, and 13, Block Z, a distance of 1Z4. 16 feet to a
point;
THENCE Northwesterly a distance of 7.5 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises, together with all and singular the
rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging unto the said
Bert E. Sewell, his heirs and assigns, forever so that neither the City of Lubbock
nor its successors and assigns, nor any person or persons claiming under it shall,
at any time hereafter, have, claim or demand any right or title to the aforesaid pre-
mises or appurtenances or any part thereof.
However, it is intended to exclude from this quit claim deed the utility and
drainage easement executed of even date herewith on the herein described property.
