A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE QUIT- CLAIM
DEEDS TO J. G. WILKERSON,, JR., AND THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY
OF LUBBOCK,, TEXAS, RESPECTIVELY, TRACTS OF LAND AS FULLY
DESCRIBED FOR THE RESPECTIVE GRANTEES IN THE BODY OF THIS
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has by art;Ordinance abandoned and
closed portions of King Avenue between Southeast Drive and 28th Street,
Lubbock, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, said Ordinance authorized The City of Lubbock, Texas to
quit-claim the West half of such abandoned portion of King Avenue aforesaid
to J. G. Wilkerson, Jr., and the East half of said abandoned portion of King
Avenue to the Urban Renewal Agency of The City of Lubbock,Texas; and,
! WHEREAS, it appears to the City Commission of The City of Lubbock .:that
it will be to the best interest of said City and the general public that quit-
claim deeds be executed by said City of Lubbock to the above mentioned Gran-
tees the respective tracts situated in Lubbock County, Texas,, as hereinabove
stated and fully described as follows, to-Wit:
To be conveyed by quit-claim to J. G. Wilkerson, Jr.,:
PARCEL I. A portion of King Avenue located in Section 5, Block B,
^ Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as
follows;
BEGINNING at a point 50 feet West and 1281.37 feet North of the South-
West corner of Lot 4, Block 53, Lyons Subdivision, a subdivision to the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North 64.39 feet to a point in the South right of way line of
Southeast Drive;
THENCE Southeasterly along the South line of the said Southeast Drive
a distance of 39.2 feet to a point;
THENCE South 34.26 feet to a point, said point being Jn the North line
of the projected alleyway from the West;
THENCE West along the North side of said projected alleyway a dis-
tance of 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
PARCEL 2. A portion of King Avenue located in Section 5, Block B,
Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds
as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 25 feet West of the Southwestccorner of Lot 4,
Block 53, Lyons Subdivision, a subdivision to the City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West 25 feet to the Southeast corner of Dunbar Heights, a
subdivision to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North along the East line of Dunbar Heights Addition a
distance of 261.37 feet to a point in the South line of an East-west
alley;
THENCE East along the South line of the projection of the East-west
alley a distance of Z5 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 261.37 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING:
To be conveyed by quit-claim to Urban Renewal Agency of Lubbock,, Texas.
PARCEL 1. A portion of King Avenue located in Section 5, Block B,.
Lubbock Countya Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as fol-
lows:
BEGINNING at a point 25 feet West anch281.37 feet North of the South-
west corner of Lot 4, Block 53, Lyons, ubdivision, a subdivision to
the City of Lubbock, Lubbock:County, `Texas;
THENCE North a distance of 34.26 feet to a point in the South right of
way line of Southeast Drive;
THENCE Southeasterly along the South line of the said Southeast Drive
a distance of 39.2 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 4. 13 feet to a point, said point being in
the North line of a projected alleyway from the West;
THENCE West along the North side of the said projected alleyway
a distance of 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
PARCEL 2. A portion of King Avenue located in Section 5, Block B.
Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at the-Soilthwest corner of Lot 4, Block 53, Lyons
Subdivision, a subdivision to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas;
THENCE West 25 feet to a point;
THENCE North 261.37 feet to a point, said point being in the South
line of a projected alleyway;
THENCE East along the South line of the projected alleyway a dis-
tance of 25 feet to a point in the West line of Lot 1, Block 53, Lyons
Subdivision, a subdivision to the Yity of Lubbock, Lubbock Countyp
Texas;

Subdivision a distance of 261.37 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
NOW THEREFORE,,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute two quit-claim
deeds to J. G. Wilkerson,, Jr., and to Urban Renewal Agency, Lubbock, Texas,'
respectively, the lands as herelna'bo4ve indicated for the respective grantees.
