Huber - Original Town - 08_24_1961 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock is engaged in causing to be constructed a new City Hall in order that the business of the government of the City of Lubbock may be more expeditiously and efficiently conducted for the public welfare; ands WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock finds that additional land is needed in the vicinity of said City Hall, which land is so related to said' City Hall so as to form a part of the same general plan in connection with, as a part ol* ;and a necessary adjunct to said City Hall; and? I WHEREAS,,, it is hereby found and determined by the City Commission that it � is a ma�,ter of public necessity to so expand the general plan for the development of said ]City Hall to include such additional land as a part of such development/and* WHEREAS, the acquisition of such additional land is deemed to be advisable for municipal purposes as provided and authorized by Subdivision 150, Article 1175 Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, and the Charter of the City of Lubbock, Texas, and itlis necessary that fee simple title to the land hereinafter described be ac- quired by the City of Lubbock in order to fulfill, satisfy, and accomplish such needso ;'necessities,,, and purposes in the interest of the public welfare and govern- ment bf!'the City of Lubbock; and, WHEREAS, Rosa Segal,, a widow,, otherwise known as R. F. Segal, and L. Huber own or have some character of interest in said additional land needed for the purposes above-described, and the value and total damages to the owners for the fee ;simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ x. and the City Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW TREREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the fee simple title to the following described ,land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County* Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock for muni- cipalpurposes and the public use and purposes as set forth in the preamble hereof which`land is more particularly described as follows: Lots is 2* 3, 4*..5., and.6* Block 70*, Original Town of the City of Lubbocks: Lubbock Pountyp $'eras. THAT the owners of said land be offered: through the Right of Way Departmentx the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated?, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock,, and unless accepted forthwith the City Attorney is hereby autho4zed and instructed to institute Conde mnation'Proce edings to acquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for the purposes aforesaid.
