Home My WebLink AboutResolution - 020961K - Quit Cliam Deed - 1St Lubbock Investment Co. - N 1_2 Block 98, Original Town Add - 02_09_1961 JWF• c f RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that a North-South Alley located in the North 112 of Block 98 of the Original Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texa , is nobnger needed for public use; and, WHEREASs the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, 'Texas, finds that it would be in the public interest to quitclaim its interest in and to said alley to First Lubbock Investment Company; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of said City a quitclaim deed from said City to First Lubbock Investment Company,; of Lubbock, Texas, a partnership composed of Murrell R. Tripp and the Ida-Mae Oldham Trust-E. W. Smith and Lee Porter, co-Trustees, covering the alley mentioned in the preamble hereof. Jwrldc `- ORDINANCE NO. 3389 AN ORDLVANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED IN THE NORTH 1/2 CIF BLOCK 98 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINZE:R TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO INDICATE THE (�t CLOSING AND ABANDONMENT OF 01D NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY AS AFORE SAID. WHE PXAS, the City Commission finds that the North-South alley, as here- inafter more particularly described is no longer needed for alley purposes or for public use; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission finds it would be to the public interest to close, vacate and abandon same for alley purposes and to public use; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDA114ED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTIO N 1. THAT the North-South alley, as hereafter described shall be, and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use; said tract of land being more particularly described as follows, to-wit: A parcel of land In Block 98, Original Town, City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at tiie Northeaot corner of Lot 1, Block 98. Original Town of City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE South along the East side of Lots 1, 2, S, 4, and 6, of said Block 98, O. T. a distance of ISO.0 feet to a point; THENCE East 20.0 feet to a point; THENCE North along the West side of Lots 16, 17, 18, 19, and ZO of said Block 98. O. T., City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, a distance of 130.0 feet to a point; THENCE Vilest 20.0 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. SECTION Z. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official map of the City of Lubbock to indicate that the alley as des- cribed in Section I hereof, has been closed and abandoned, showing the number of this ordinance and the date of its final passage.
