URBAN RENEWAL-PROJECT AREA TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK AND THE. URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY. OF LUBBOCK FOR THEIR REVIEW AND RE- COMMENDATIONS; PROVIDING FOR THE- PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF HEAR- ING ON THE QUESTION OF ADOPTION OF SAID REVISED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF .SAID PUBLIC. HEARING PUR- SUANT TO SAID NOTICE. WHEREAS, the personnel of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock has prepared a revised Urban Renewal Plan for that area known as the Revised Coronado Urban Renewal Project Area, located In the City of Lubbock, Texas, and said revised plan has been sub- mitted to the City Commission of the City of Lubbock by the Execu- tive DIrector of said Urban Renewal Agency; and, WHEREAS, the said revised Urban Renewal Project Area, as de- fined and described in said revised Plan includes that area designated by the City Commission as the Coronado Urban Renewal _ Project Area in Resolution adopted December 5, 1957t together.r-� itu w4*Wthat certain area heretofore defined and described as the Yellowhouse Urban Renewal Area by Resolution adopted by the City Commission on such date of December 5, 1957; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock deems it expedient and in the public Interest to submit said revised Urban Renewal Plan to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Lubbock and the Board of Commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock for their review and recommendations; and, WHEREAS, the City Commission further finds that a notice of public hearing on the proposed adoption of said revised Urban Renewal Plan should be given as required by the Urban Renewal Law of Texas; NOW THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1 . THAT the revised Urban Renewal Plan for the Revised Coronado Urban Renewal Project Area as prepared and sub- mitted to the City Commission by the Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock BE and the same is hereby submitted to the Planning and-Zoning Commission of the City of Lubbock and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock for their review and recommendations as to the conformity /^ of said revised Urban Renewal Plan with the General Plan for the development of the City as a whole. Said Agency and Planning Commission shall submit their written recommendations with res- pect to said revised Urban Renewal Plan to the City Commission within thirty (30) days after the receipt of said Plan for review. SECTION 2. THAT the following notice of public hearing on the proposed adoption of the revised Urban Renewal Plan for the Revised Coronado Urban Renewal Project Area shall be published three (3) times in a newspaper having general circulation in the City-of Lubbock, Texas, as follows, to-wit: A NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UPON THE REVISED URBAN RENEWAL PLAN �.. FOR THE REVISED CORONADO URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT AREA, PROJECT TEXAS R-33 Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held upon the Revised Urban Renewal Plan for the Revised Coronado Urban Renewal Project Area, Project No. Texas R-33, before the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, in the General Assembly Room of the Cen- tral Fire Station, 503 Avenue K, in said City at the hour of -2c00 , on Thursday, March 23, 1961 . The Revised Urban Renewal Plan together with a statement of the proposed method and estimated cost of the acquisition and prepara- tion for redevelopment or urban renewal of the revised urban renewal project area and the estimated proceeds or revenues from its disposal to redevelopers] a statement of the proposed method of financing the project; and a statement of a feasible method proposed for the relo- cation of families to be displaced from the revised urban renewal area have been prepared and recommended by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock, which Agency will undertake to execute the proposed project. The boundaries of said Revised Coronado Urban Renewal Project Area, which is situated in the City of- Lubbock, County of Lubbock, and State of Texas, are as follows: BEGINNING at the Intersection of the West line of Ash Avenue with the South line of Survey 3, Block "0", Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East along East 19th Street and along the South line of Survey 3, Block "0" to its intersection with an extension of the Northeast Right-of-Way fine of Southeast Drive; THENCE Southeasterly along the extension of and along the Northeast Right-of-Way line of Southeast Drive to a point one hundred and five ( 105) feet Northwest of its inter- section with the proposed center line of the proposed separated crossing and separated crossing road (proposed to be extended from East 26th Street on the West to East 24th Street on the East); THENCE 90" left along a line perpendicular to Southeast Drive to the intersection of said line with the South- west Right-of-Way line of Weber Avenue; THENCE Southeast along the Southwest Right-of-Way line of Weber Avenue to its intersection with an extension of the North line of East 24th Street; t" THENCE East along the extenslon. of and along the North line of East 24th Street to its intersection with the West line of Quirt Avenue; THENCE slightly West of North along the West line of Quirt Avenue to its intersection with the proposed North line of East 22nd Street; THENCE East along the proposed North line of East 22nd Street to its intersection with the East line of Redbud Avenue; THENCE South along the East line of Redbud Avenue to Its In- tersection with the North line of East 31st Street; r �., THENCE East along the North line of East 31st Street to its intersection with the East line of Sieber Additions Second Installment and/or the East line of a N-S alley) THENCE South along the ,East line of Sieber Additions Second Installment to Its Intersection with an extension of the South line of East 34th Street; THENCE West along the extension of and along the South line of East 34th Street to its Intersection with an extension of the Southwest Right-of-Way line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway Company] THENCE Northwesterly along the extension of and along the Southwest Right-of-Way line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway Company to Its intersection with an extension of the Northeast Right-of-Way line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railway Company; THENCE Northwesterly along the extension of and along the Northeast Right-of-Way line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railway Company to Its Intersection with a 945.37 foot radius curve to the rights said curve being parallel to and ten (10) feet radially distant from the center line of an industry track of said railway company which Is on a 6 degree curve to the right leading to the West side of Ash Avenue; THENCE along the 945 37 foot radius curve to the right parallel to and ten Z10) feet radially distant from the center line of the spur-track to the point of tangency for said 945.37 foot radius curve., said point of tan- gency being on the West line of Ash Avenue; THENCE North along the West line of Ash-Avenue to its Inter- section with the South line of Survey 3, Block "0", the POINT OF BEGINNING for this project area. The purpose of the hearing Is to consider a proposal for the under- taking of the revised project, under state and local law, with Federal Law 171-81st Congress) as amended; the general. scope of which proposes: to acquire land In the revised project area; to demolish or remove buildings and Improvements) to install , construct or reconstruct streets, utilities, and other site improvements) to make land in the revised pro- ject area available for development or redevelopment by private enter- prise or public agencies as authorized by law; to install, construct or reconstruct parks and playgrounds, and carry out plans for a program of repair and rehabilitation of buildings or other improvements. Any person or organization desiring to be heard will be afforded an opportunity to be heard at such hearing. The Urban Renewal Agency's r-. proposals with respect to relocation of families will be available for examination prior to the hearing and will be open for discussion at the hearing.
