RESOLUTION
=+ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM
DEED TO LUBBOCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT,, CONVEYING THE
LAND AS DESCRIBED HEREIN.
WHEREAS, Lubbock Independent School District, desires a Quit Claim Dee
from The City of Lubbock, Texas to certain land located in said City of Lubbock,
Lubbock County, Texas and fuJly described as follows: IN Lubbock,Lubbock
County, Texas and
BEGINNING at a point 117.5 West of the Northeast
corner of Block 62, Norwood Subdivision, Lubbock,
Texas;
THENCE South to a point 117. 5 feet West of the
Southeast corner of said Block 62;
THENCE West 12 feet to a point 117. 5 feet Eatt of
the Southwest corner of said Block 62;
THENCE North to a point 106.86 feet from the Northwest
corner of said Block 62;
THENCE East 12 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
WHEREAS„ it appgars that the property hereinabove described has been
abandoned by the City of Lubbock, Texas as a public way and for a public use on
-- the grounds that such abandonment was to the public interest; NOW: THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute a quit claim
deed conveying the above-described property to Lubbock Independent School
District.
Passed by the City Commission this the 9th day of February , 1961.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK
THAT, the City of Lubbock, Texas, a municipal corporation for and in
consideration of the sum of ONE AND NO/100 ($1.00) DOLLARS and other
valuable considerations to it in hand paid by Lubbock Independent School Dis-
trict, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and confessed, does by
these presents bargain, sell, release and forever quit claim unto said
Lubbock Independent School District heirs, assigns. and representatives,
all right, title and interest of the said City of Lubbock. Texas, in and to
that certain tract cr parcel of land lying in The City of Lubbock. Lubbock
,nnn y vTexas and described by metes and bounds as follows:
.BEGINNING at a point 117.S West of the Northeast corner
of Block 62, Norwood Subdivision, Lubbock, Texas;

THENCE South to a point 117.6 feet West of the Southeast
corner of said Block 6Z;
THENCE West 1Z feet to a point 117.b feet East of the
Southwest corner of said Block 6Zi
THENCE North to a point 106.86 feet from the Northwest
corner of said Block 62;
THENCE East 12 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said premises together with all and singu-
lar the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner belonging
unto the said Lubbock Independent School District, its heirs, assigns, succes-
sors and representatives forever, so that neither The City of Lubbock. Texas.
nor any persone persons, or corporations claiming under said City of Lubbock,
Texas, at any time hereafteri have, claim or demand any right or title to the
aforesaid premises or appurtenances, or any part thereof. This is intended
as a quit-claim deed from said City of Lubbock , Texas, to said Lubbock Inde-
pendent School District of all right, title or interest in and to the land described
herein.
WITNESS THE BAND of the Mayor of Lubbock, Texas, duly authorised by
resolution this the 9th day of ,,Febrary , 1961.

Lubbock County, Texas, on this day personally appeared DAVID C. CASEY,

the CITY OF LUBBOCK and as MAYOR, for the purposes and consideration
therein expressed, and in the capacity therein stated.
