HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 082759L - Street Improvements - Kerr Paving Co - GWO 2375 66Th St., 50Th St. - 08_27_1959 0 Sq Lw RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING 71fPROVEVENTS ON PORTIONS OF ALLEYS, STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW; AREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improve- ment resolutions and entered into contract with Kerr Paving Company (G.W.O. 2375) for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous alleys, streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: 6bTH Street frM Its Intersection with line 66.17 feet East of WPL of College Ave. to its intersection with a line 11I'Ifeet West of EFL of Elgin Avenue, known and designated as New Subdivision Unit dumber 584. I 50th Street trom its intersection with a line 16 teet West of WPL of Gary Ave. (South Leg) to its intersection with a line 15 feet West of EPL of Indiana Ave. (South Leg) , known and designated as .Su -Unit Number 5 of Unit Number 1911. WHEREAS, the City cost for extra width will not exceed $17,803.01 which is for: 12,546.55 S.Y. Paving @ $1.38 $ 17,314.24 33.44 S.Y. Resurfacing j @ $0.90 30.10 68.25 L.F. Valley Gutter @ $5.00 341.25 { TOTAL $ 17,685.59 i Because City Funds are not now available for the City to contribute its customary share; the contractor will receive from the City of Lubbock a payment of $17,803.01 without interest for the City`s cost of extra width on November 1st, 1960. AND WHEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementione alleys, streets and/or avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract (G.W.O. 2375) . i THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned alleys, streets, and/or avenues be and the same are hereby accepted, and the City Engineer be and he is hereby authorized to direct payment of the Cityts portion of the cost, according to the terms of the contract. II. F LUBBOCK TEXAS August 27, 1959 Honorable Mayor and City Commission Lubbock, Texas Gentlemen: I have examined the paving improvements constructed by Kerr Paving Company, paving contractor, under their contract designated as G.W.O. 2375 and find the improvements on 50th Street; 66th Street as listed on the final estimate sheet to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and recommend that you accept the inprovements on said streets and/or avenues, authorizing payment to the contractor the amount shown on the attached consolidated final estimate sheet as due them by the City of Lubbock.
