RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock finds that an additio
amount of money is needed for planning the Yellowhouse Urban Renewal Project is
and that the description of the Yellowhouse Urban Renewal Area should be revised
and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that an amendment of the preamble oil
a Resolution previously paused by this Commission is necessary to accomplish su t
purpose; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK-
SECTION 1. THAT the second paragraph of the preamble of the Resolution
passed by the City Commission on December 5, 1957, finding Yellowhouse Urban
Renewal Area to be a slum and blighted area and authorizing an application for
Advance of Funds from the United States of America for survey and planning for
said Area, BE AND THE SAME IS hereby amended to read hereafter as follows:
"WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the
Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Lubbock prepare surveys and
plans, presently estimated to cost approximately $146, 946. 44, in
order to undertake .and carry out an urban renewal project of the
character contemplated by Section 11U(c) of said Title 1, in that
certain area, proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the
City of Lubbock, County of Lubbock, and State of Texas, and des-
cribed as follows: That certain area known as the Yellowhouse Urban
Renewal Area and described generally as follows:
Description of the Yellowhouse Area
BEGINNING at the intersection of the West line of Ash
Avenue with the North line of Survey 5, Block "B", Lub-
bock County, Texas;
THENCE East along East 19th Street and along the North
line of Survey 5, Block ".B" to its intersection with an
extension of the Northeast Right-of-way line of Weber Avenue;.
THENCE Southeasterly along the extension of the Northeast
Right-of-Way line of Weber Avenue to its intersection with
the proposed North line of East 24th Street;
THENCE East along the proposed North line of East 24th
Street to its intersection with the West line of Quirt Avenue;
THENCE slightly West-of-North along the Vkst line of Quirt
Avenue to its intersection with the propcsed North line of
East 22nd'Street;
THENCE East along the proposed North line lof East 22nd
Street to its intersection with the East line of Redbud Avenue;
THENCE South along the Eastairie 'of Redbud Avenue to its
intersection with the North line of East 31st Street;

THENCE East along the North line of East 31st Street
to its intersection with the East line of Seiber Addition,
Second Installment and/or the East line of a N-S alley;
THENCE South along the East line of Seiber Addition,
Second Installment to its intersection with an extension
of the South line of East 34th,Street;
THENCE West along the extension of and along the South
line of East 34th Street to its intersection with an extension
of the Southwest Right-of-Way line of the Panhandle and
Santa Fe Railway Company;
THENCE Northwesterly along the extension of and along the
Southwest Right-of-Way line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe
Railway Company to its intersection with the:South line of
the proposed overpass Street (proposed.to be extended from
East 28th to East 26th);
THENCE left 90 degrees and ,proceeding Southwesterly along
the. South line of the proposed overpass street to its inter-
section with the North line of;East 28th Street;
THENCE West along the North line of East 28th Street to its
intersection with the West line of Juniper Avenue;
THENCE South along the West line of Juniper Avenue to its
intersection with the Northeast Right-of-Way line of the
Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Company;
THENCE Northwesterly along the Northeast Right-of-Way
line of the Fort' Worth and Denver City Railway Company
to its intersection with a 945.37 radius curve to the right,
said curve being parallel to and 10 feet radially distant
from the center line of an industry tract of paid railway
company which is on a 6 degree curve to the right leading
to the West side of Ash Avenue,
THENCE along the 945. 37 radius curve to the right parallel
to and 10 feet radially distant from the center line of the Spur
track to the point of tangency for said 945.37 radius curve, said
point of tangency being on the West line' of Ash Avenue;
THENCE North along the West line of Ash Avenue to its inter-
section with the North line of Survey 5, Block "Bit, the POINT
OF BEGINNING for this project area; it
SECTION 2. THAT all the remainder of the Resolution amended by Section
1 hereof shall remain in full force and effect and all findings and actions made
thereby shall apply to the preamble of said Resolution passed on December 5, 195 ,
as amended by this Resolution.
SECTION 3, The filing of the revised application for Survey and Planning is
hereby authorized.
