HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2001-R0055 - Resolution No Objection For The State To Sell Right Of Way - 02/22/2001Resolution No. 2001-R0055 February 22, 2001 RESOLUTION Item No. 23 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: Whereas, a Right -of -Way Deed exists in Section 36, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas, being a part of that 16.346 acre tract of land conveyed by S.E. McMillan and wife, L. B. McMillan to the State of Texas in Right -of -Way Deed recorded in Volume 851, Page 66, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas and adjoining that tract of land conveyed to the Lillie Catherine Mears Trust in Warranty Deed recorded in Volume 6912, Page 153, Real Property Records of Lubbock County, Texas; Whereas, the land specified is no longer needed for the use of citizens as a road; Whereas, a release of the right-of-way would enable an abutting landowner more efficient use of the land; Whereas, the Texas Department of Transportation has made this request of the City of Lubbock. Whereas, the property descriptions for said right-of-way are attached in Exhibits "A" & "B" of this resolution; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Lubbock does not interpose any objection for the State to sell and release the said right-of-way to the abutting landowner.
