WHEREAS,, the City Commission 4n.ds it expedient and in the public interest to canvass the returns of the special referendum election held on January 27, 1959 and declare the results thereof; NOW THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: Be it remembered that on the 30 day of January , 1959, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock met in special session in compliance with the charter of the City of Lubbock, at the regular meeting place of said Commission at City Hall* Lubbock, Tekass with the following members of said Commission present,, to-wit: #, AND the following members absentj, to-wit: On motion of Commissioner Casey a seconded by Commi- ssioner Thompson , it was unanimously carried that the returns of the special referendum election held in the City of Lubbock,, Texasa, on January 27, 1959,, be opened and canvassed and the results declared therefrom; and said return having been duly canvassed it is found that on Proposition 12 2, 3, 40, and 5 on the official ballot for said special election (the form for said ballot was prescribed by Ordinance No. 2665 of the City of Lubbock, reference to which is hereby made for all pertinent purposes) the vote on each of said Propositions was as follows: Proposition 1: Total number of votes cast: 89412 , Number of votes cast Against the repeal of Ordinance No. 2533: 6226 Number of votes cast for the repeal of Ordinance No. 2533:2I86 • A majorityof 4040 votes of the'-"total nu be of votes cast vyere cast against ae repeal of Orc finance No. 5 IN Proposition 2: Total number of votes cast: 8,414 Number of votes cast against the repeal of Ordinance No. 2535: 6,231 Number of votes cast for the repeal of Ordinance No. 2535: 2183 A majority of 4048 votes of the TUtal number of votes cast were cas repeal of Ordinance No. 2535. proposition 3• Total number of votes cast: 8,433 Number of votes cast against the repeal of Ordinance No. 2536: 6,243 Number of votes cast for the repeal of Ordinance No. 2536: 2` 190 A majority of 4053 votes of the total number of votes cast were cast agains, e .
