HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 012259E - Warranty Deed - State Of Texas - Section 10 Block E2 - 01/22/1959 01 r � w RESOLUTION d` WHEREAS, the State of Texas acting through the State Highway Commission as authorized under House Bill 179 Acts of the 55th Legislature, Regular Session 1957, desires to purchase the land herein described for the purposes of facilitat- ing the construction, maintenance and operation of a controlled access Highway which has been designated as Loop 289, Lubbock County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock acquired title to the land hereinafter describe for the purpose of providing right of way for said Loop 289;and, WHEREAS, the State Highway Commission has now requested that said land b conveyed to the mate_«of,-.Texas, and the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of the public that same by conveyed to the State of Texas; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Warranty Deed for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock conveying the land here- inafter described to the Stete of Texas, said land being more particularly,`, describe i as follows, to-wit.; 6. 206 acres of land, same being out of and a part of that certain 6. 313 acre tract out of the Northeast one-quarter of Section 10, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, which 6. 313 acre tract was conveyed to the City of Lubbock by deed dated June 26, 1957, of record in Volume 666, page 631, Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, which 6.206 acres of land is more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at-the Southeast corner of said 6. 313 acre tract, said point being 917. 5 feet East and 818. 8 feet South of the Northwest corner of said Northeast one-quarter, THENCE North 720031 West, 964.4 feet along a line parallel to and 150 feet Southwesterly from the centerline of a proposed freeway as established in the field by the Texas Highway Depart- ment, to the Southwest corner of said 6. 313 acre tract; THENCE Northerly, 204.3 feet along the West boundary line of said 6. 313 acre tract, being also the East boundary line of the Alexander tract in said Section, to a point in the South boundary line of a street; THENCE Easterly, 343. 1 feet along the said South boundary line, to a point; THENCE South 720031 East, 603. 8 feet along a line parallel to and 150 feet Northeasterly from said center line, to the North- East corner of said 6.313 acre tract; THENCE Southerly, 315.4 feet along the East boundary line of said 6.313acre tract, being also .the West boundary line of the Conley tract to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, I IF SECTION 2. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to attest the signature of the Mayor and to affix the seal of the City of Lubbock thereto.
