, WHEREA the land and premises hereinafter described was acquired b
the City of Lubbock for the purpose of establishing a public improvement as an
addition to its Fire Department; and,.
WHEREAS, the location of said land and premises is no longer desirable
�o as a location for the intended improvement because of a shift in the population
!71 in the area and is therefore undesirable for the purpose for which it was
acquired; and,.
WHEREASy. John Craig desires to purchase the land hereinafter described
from the City of Lubbock and has offered to pay the sum of $1800. 00 as consid-
eration for such land., on terms and installments as follows: One-third (1/3)
of the purchase'price in cash and the balance to be payable in equal monthly
installments over a period of five years; ands,
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that the sum offered by
John Craig is a fair and equitable price for said.1ands and it will be to the benefit
of the general public. and the City of Lubbock to sell said land to John Crate, I
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock BE and he is hereby
authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Warranty Deed
conveying the following described property to John Craig to-wit: Lot 13; Ithica
iAddition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas;
Being a part of Block 1, Tract Four (4) of the H. W. Stanton Subdivision
of the NE 1/4 of Section 15,,, Block B. Situated in Lubbock County, Texas,
and described as follows:
BEGINNING at the NE corw__�r .of a tract of land heretofore conveyed to
R. A. Gregoryp, as reflected by conveyance recorded in Volume 2194.
page 337 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE North 75 feet to a point for the NE Cor. this tract;
THENCE West a distance of 147. 5 feet to a point for the NW Cor. of this tract;
THENCE South 75 feet to a point for the SW. Corner of this tract;
THENCE East 147. 5 feet to the place of beginning same being a strip of
land 75 feet in width and 147. 5 feet in length.
and he is hereby authorized-to deliver such conveyance to Grantee upon the
receipt by the City of Lubbock of the sum of $600. 00 in cash together with the
executed note :of John Craig payable to the City of Lubbock for the principal
sum of $1200. 00 payable in installments of $23. 20 per month for a period of
five years and which said amount includes interest on the principal sum at 616
per annum, said note being aequred by vendors lien and deed of trust.

SECTION 2. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and instructed

to attest the signature of the Mayor of the City of Lubbock and as evidence of
which the seal of the City of Lubbock is to be impressed to said conveyance.
