HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 050858B - Quit Claim Deed - Forrest Lumber Co. - Portion Of 17Th St. Best Possible Scan - 05_08_1958 JWF:g 5/5/58 �R E_S _O _L _U ^T 1 O^N A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER FORREST LUMBER COMPANY, A TEXAS CORPORATION OF LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, A QUIT CLAIM DEED ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ,LUBBOCK TO A PORTION OF 17TH STREET IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS RES DLUTION. WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, that a certain portion of 17th Street as more particularly described in the body of this Resolution, is not being used and will not in the future be used or needed for public purposes or street purposes or any other public purpose; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be to the public interest for the City of Lubbock to quit claim its interest in said portion of 17th Street to Forrest Lumber Company; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of said City a Quit Claim Deed to Forrest Lumber Company, . a Texas Corporation of Lubbock County, Texas, copveying its interest in and to the following described portion of 17th Street looated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to-wit: 4 A portion of 17th Street which lies between Slide Road and Bangor Avenue in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, described as follows: That portion of 17th .Street as dedicated by the Deed recorded in Volume 491, Page 492 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, that conflicts with 17th Street as platted in the Alford Terrace Addition plat and recorded in Volume 689, Page 424 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, with the portion of land to be closed and abandoned lying along the North side of 17th Street as previously dedicated and being approximately 4 feet in width. SECTION Z. The City Secretary-Treasurer shall attest such Quit Claim Deed affixing the seal of the City of Lubbock thereto. Passed by the Commission this 801 day of May 1958.
