A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVEIR
4 TO FORREST LUMBER COMPANY, A QUIT CLAIM DEED ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK TO A PORTION OF .ABERDEEN AVENUE IN THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission of the City
of Lubbock that a certain pprtion of Aberdeen Avenue as more particularly
described in the body of this Resolution, is not being used and will not in the
future be used or needed for public purposes or street purposes or any other
public purpose; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be to the public interest
for the City of Lubbock to quit claim its interest in said portion of Aberdeen
Avenue to Forrest Lumber Company, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized
and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of said City a quit claim deed to
Forrest Lumber Company, a Texas Corporation, conveying its interest in and
to the following described portion of Aberdeen Avenue located in the City of
Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to-wit:
A portion of Aberdeen Avenue which lies South of
I7th Street in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas, described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the Northeast corner of
the Cleo L. Clark Tract out of Section 4, Block E-2,
and being 464. 5 feet East more or less and 847. 2 feet
North more or less of the Southeast corner of Section 4,
Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas;
THENCE West 25 feet;
THENCE North 132.8 feet;
THENCE East 50 feet;
THENCE South 132. 8 feet;
THENCE West 25 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
being a portion of Aberdeen Avenue as per dedication
deed filed Volume 509, page 485 of the Deed Records
of Lubbock County, Texas.
SECTION 2. The City Secretary-Treasurer shall attest such quit claim
eed affixing the seal of the City of Lubbo,�k thereto.
