HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 112657K - It Is Determined That The Urban Renewal Agency Shall Consist Of Nine Members - 11_26_1957RES'OLU tr%ON A RESOLUTION DETERMINING NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENGY1 SHOWING THE APPOINTMENT OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY AND THEIR RESPECTIVE TERM OF OFFICE; AND AUTHORIZING SAID; URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY TO PROCEED FORTH WITH AS A PUBLIC BODY CORPORATE AND PQLITIC AS PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, Section 16.(b) of the Urban Renewal Law of Texas provides that an Urban Renewal Agency shall consist of not less than five 5) nor more than nine (9) members, and. said section further provides that the governing body of the 'City shall determine the.a.ctuaal n�;mber of Commission3ers of the Urban Renewal Agency at the time of appointment and the number may not be increased or decreased more than once every two years; andp, W1iEREAS,, the City Commission finds it would be to the public interests safetyp healthg, and general welfare that the actual number of Commissioners of said Urban Renewal Agency be determined,7, and that the appointment of said Commissioners be made; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT'RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. It is hereby determined that said Urban Renewal Agency consist of nine (9) members. SECTION 2■ The following commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency have been appointed by the Mayor of the City of Lubbock with the advice and consent of the City Commission of the City of Lubbock,, as follows: A. The following Commissioners shall serve for a term of one year: Ray Chapman, Mrs. Hill Baggett, Johnny Davis, C. W. Ratliff, and Mrs. Roy Riddel B. The following Commissioners shall serve for a term of two years: L. T. Foster, Howard Davison, J. D. Hassell and George Wood SECTION 3. As composed by the above appointments= said urban renewal agency shall proceed forthwith as a public body corporate and politic as provides by law.
