0 "RESOLUTION AND ORDER canvassing returns and declar-
ing result of an election held on the &&" day of

taxpaying voters of said City the question of

River Municipal Water Authority".
There came on to be considered the returns of an elec-
tion held in said City on the ZW day of , 1960,
to determine the following proposition:
"SHALL the yos of the City of
t , be authorized
o contract witfi the Canadian River Municipal
Water Authority for a water supply for said City
as authorized by Article 1109e R.C.S. of Texas,
1925, and other applicable laws?"
AND IT APPEARING from said returns duly and lawfully
made that there were cast at said election 9761 valid votes
of which number 9514 votes were cast "MR CONTRACT{'
and 247 votes were cast "AGAINST THE WATER CONTRACT"; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY CQMMUA1 'rN
OF THE CITY OF LQ I�CK , TEXAS:
SECTION 1:- That the aforesaid election was duly and
legally called and tice thereof given in accordance with the
laws of the State of Texas, and the resolution and order calling
said election; that said election was held in strict conformity
with the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, and the
returns thereof have been properly made to the officials of the
City entitled to receive same; that only resident qualified
property taxpaying voters of said City, who owned property there-
in subject to taxation, and who have duly rendered the same for
taxation, sere permitted to vote at said election; and further,
that said election properly represents the desires of those
qualified to vote as aforesaid.
SECTION 2: That a majority of the taxpaying voters
voting at said`elecfion have voted in f�v r of the e�water
contract, and that, therefore this l` is
authorized to pass an ordinance prescribing the Form an sub-
stance of said contract and directing the execution thereof.

there being present and in attendance the following members:
Mayor David C. Casey and commissioners Vernon E. Thompson, W. C. O'Mara, and Otis Mani
and with the following absent: Commissioner Frank H. Chappell

constituting a quorum; and, among other proceedings had were
following:

The resolution and order was read in full by the Citybacra#sry ,
and after full discussion and mature deliberation, the question was
called for, whereupon, said resolution and order was put to a vote
of the Guy c4maalsdaft , and was passed, adopted and enacted
by the Iro-Ilowing vote:
"AyMll: Mayor Casey and Commissioners Maner, O'Mara, and Thompson
The Mayor then declared the resolution and order finally
passed, adopted and enacted.
