Home My WebLink AboutResolution - 072860D - Quit Claim - Grace Presbyterian Church Inc - Grace Addition - 07/28/1960 JPE dc RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that a certain hereinafter described portion of the East-West alley located immediately North of Lots 1 and 2, Grace Addition, is not needed for public use as an alley and that it would be expedient and in the public interest to quitclaim said portion of alley to the current abutting owners; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK- SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of said city a quitclaim deed to Grace Presbyterian Church of Lubbock, Inc., a non-profit Texas corporation covering the following described property: That portion of an East-West alley located immediately North of Lots 1 and 2 Grace Addition, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and being more particularly described as follows, to-wit: BEGINNING at a point 330.0 feet North and 1355 feet East of the South- west corner of Section 3, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East a distance of 487.5 feet to a point; THENCE North a distance of 20.0 feet to a point; THENCE West a distance of 487. 5 feet to a point; THENCE South a distance of 20.0 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. SECTION 3. THAT the City Secretary shall attest the signature of the Mayo to said quitclaim deeds and shall affix the seal of the City of Lubbock thereto. Brewster, Assistant City Attorney SUBJECT: ORDINANCE, RESOLUTION AND QUIT CLAIM DEED Attached find Ordinance. Resolution and Quit Claim Deed in connection with the closing and abandoning of that portion of the East-West alley lying North of Lots 1 and 2, Grace Addition, as requested by your memo of July 28. Please verify that all abutting owners have acqiesced in this transaction and that clearances have been obtained from all affected utilities. Also note, that the consideration blank mthe quit claim deed has not been filled in, since this department was not informed whether or not any cash payment other then the nominal One Dollar fee was to a require in this transaction.
