A RESOLUTION AMENDING A RESOLUTION PASSED DECEMBER 14a. 1959 TO
READ AS FOLLOWS:
In connection with numbered paragraph 4 of the City of Lubbockxs contract
to purchase ifacilitiest, of the South Plains Electric Cooperative,, Inc. ,,, the .
general manager of the electric light and power system of the city is authorized
as follows:
1. To issue permits to CO-OP to render electric service directly to indivi-
dual consumers of electricity where the improvements served,,; or to be served,
are located on the corporate boundary lines of the City of Lubbock as such lines
existed on December 30, 1959* although such improvements are partially within
and partially outside said corporate limits,,, PROVIDED such consumer desires
such service and it is not feasible for such consumer to be served within a rear
sonable time by the City or an electric utility holding a franchise from the City
of Lubbock AND FURTHER PROVIDED that such services may continue from
month to month at the will of the consumer and until such time as such consumer
desires to secure electric service from the city,or its franchise holder and ren-
dition of such service shall be feasible by city or its franchise holder,,. AND
FURTHER PROVIDED that each application of COS-OP to render such service
shall be in writing,, with the name and address of the consumer and designate
the location of the improvements to be served with reference to the city limits*
the rate to be charged for such electric service AND FURTHER PROVIDED that
all permits so issued shall be subject to the terms of this resolution and amend-
ments and applicable charter and ordinance.provisions.
Passed by unanimous vote of the City Commission this 14th day of January

SUBJECT: REA Purchase
As of today, January 14, 1960, we have completed the transfer of all
the facilities of the South Plains Electric Cooperative which were involved
in the purchase contract. We are already providing service to all the
customers, and we will complete the reading and tagging of all meters today.
I have reviewed the additions and deletions to the REA system as listed
in Exhibit D and Exhibit D-1.. These exhibits list the changes which have
occurred since the date of inventory. I agree that the procedure outlined
in the contract has been followed for computing the cost of the additions
and deletions, and I agree with the total price established. The total price
Is S453,535.79 and is computed as followst
Original agreed price of inventory $4340600.00

I would like to commend the personnel of the South Plains Electric
Cooperative for the excellent cooperation they have given in accomplishing
the transfer of facilities from their system to the Municipal Power and Ught
system.
