PERMIT
I FOR OIL WELL DRILLING
L WHER�AS, the City Commission has considered the application of White-
hall Oil Company, Inc. , of Dallas, Texas, for an oil well drilling permit, and
brig. finds that thi application dated December 29. '1959. complies with the provisions
mailed to of Ordinance; No. 2939 (being Chapter 19A of the Lubbock City Codes and,
Dl Co.
2i17-60) WHEREAS, the Commission has fixed the amount of the principal of the
bond and insurance at the minimums provided in said Ordinance; NOW THERE-
FORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. Whitehall Oil Company, Inc. ,1814 Mercantile Bank Building,
Dallas, Texas, is hereby granted a, permit under the provisions of Ordinance No.
2939 to drill an oil well at the following location in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Te"s:
Proposed site of the well - $30 feet the North line and
330 feet from the East line of the following described
track of land,
Out of the South 1/2 of Section 2, Block D-4, Lubbock
County, Texas, Abstract 677, located by virtue of
Certificate 249, and described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at an iron axle set in road going North and
South for the Southeast corner of Section 2, Block D-4,
and the Southeast corner of this survey;

THEiiCE West following fence line at 1875.8 varas set
rock under East and West fence for the Southwest corner
of Se�tion 2. Block D-4, and the Southwest corner of this
survy from which corner post In fences going North,
East,, and 'V'b'est bears West 47 varas;
THENCE North 932.5 Maras to wooden stake set in Vast
boundary lice of Section 2, Block D-4, for the Northwest
corner of this survey. from which pipe under North and
Southlfence bears West, 46, 5 varas; �
THE14CE East at 1863.8 varas set iron axle in road going
North and South for the Northeast corner of this firvey;
THENCE South 0021, East following public road 938. 1
varaslto the PLACE OF BEGINNING, Containing 308. 13
acres 1of land, more or less.
TO a depth not,exceeding the proposed depth of $500 feet.
SECTIOI� 2. All provisions of Ordinance No. 2939 are by reference made it
part of this per;it, ,which is issued subject to all provisions theceof.

SECTION 3. The term of this permit shall be for a period of one year from
the date of the permit and as long thereafter as the permittee in engaged in drill•
fng operations with no cessations of such operations for more than ninety days, or
pit or gas to produced in commercial quantities from the well drilled pursuant to
such permits provided, if at any time after discovery of oil or gas the production
"^ thereof in commerical quantities shall Cease, the term Shall not 'terminaate if the
Vermittee commences additional reworking operations .within ninety 'days thereafter,
sad'tf they result in the production of oil or gas, *a long thereafter as oil or gang
is 'produced in commercial quantities from such well.
SECTION 4. No actual operations shall be ;+commenced until the applicant
has filed and have approved an indemnity bond in the principal aatnount of not leas
than$Z5, 000 as provided by Section 19A-9 (a) of the Lubbock City Code, and
certificates of insurance as provided in Section 1'9A•9 (b) of the Lubbock City
Code,
SECTION 5. This permit is issued ,subject to permittee complying with the
above-mentioned bond and insurance requirements, and shall not be operative un-
less and untl such requirements have been complied with. After the City Manager
has determined such compliance has been met by permittee, he shall forward two
true duplicate copies of this permit to permittee for acceptance and execution by
permittee, and permittee shall return both duplicates for approval and execution
by the City Manager, and if approved, the City Manager shall execute each of such
duplicates and forward one duplicate copy to the permittee and file the other dupli-
cate copy with the City Secretary, and after such execution by the permittee and
the City Manager, same shall constitute the permit of permittee.
SECTION b. The date of this permit shall be the date of the passing of this
Resolution by the City Commission.
SECTION 7. The following ,e*eeption shall apply: Except that the Whitehall
Oil Co. shall be permitted to use a 751 X 75' slush pit for reserve mud.
