HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 112056M - Street Improvements - West Texas Construction Inc - GWO 1234-B, Indiana Avenue - 11_20_1956 r RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING INIPROVEIMTTS CN PORTICUS CF STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES AS LISTED BEIM AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN LWIDE14CE OF ASSESBMTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with West Texas Construction, Inc., (G.W.O. 1234-B) for the making and construction of alley and/or street improvements on portions of numerous streets and/or alleys in said city including among others the following: East 1/2 of Indiana Avenue from its intersection with the North Property Line of the alley North of 48th Street to its intersection with a line 15 feet North of the North Property Line of 46th Street, known and designated as part of Sub- Unit Number 1 of Unit Number 1853. West 1/2 of Indiana Avenue from its intersection with the South Property Line of the alley South of 48th Street to its intersection with a line 15 feet South of the South Property Line of 47th Street, known and designated as part of Sub- Unit Number 2 of 'Unit Number 1853- AND VMEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the above- mentioned streets and/or avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms ,of said contract (GIG 1234-B). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on s aid portions of the abovementioned streets and/ or avenues'be, and the same are hereby accepted, and the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to direct payment of the City's portion of cost. II. That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of streets and/or avenues listed above and against the owners of such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were . levied. III. This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 20TH DAY CF NOVEMBER, 1956. S. S.
