HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 052556A - Quit Claim - TX, NM, OK Coaches Inc - Original Town, Block 146 - 05/25/1956 �_•r` RES919112N A RESOLUTION AUTFORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A QUIT=CLAIM DEED ON BTUiATY OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO THAT CERTAIN NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN AND INTERSECTING WITH 14TH STREET ON TIF: SOUTH AND 13TH STR,', ON THE NORTH ® IN BLACK 146 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF LUBBOC, TEXAS AND BEING ;ALLrOF THE NORTH —SOUTH ALLEY AS PLATTED IN BIOCK 346 OF THE: ORIGINAL TOWN OF LUBBOCK, TEXA rGc WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission that the North- / South Alley in Block 146 of the Original Town of Lubbock, Texas as more particularly described hereafter is no longer needed for public travel purposes; and, e� •-� WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, that it would be to the public interest to quit-claim its interest in such land to the Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma Coaches, Inc., and other abutting property owners in such block; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COVI,IISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK-. SECTION 1. THAT the mayor of this City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit-Claim Deed to Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma Coaches, Inc, and the other abutting property owners, conveying its interest in and to the hereinafter described land in the North-South Alley in Block 146, Original Town of Lubbock described as follows: The North-South Alley between and intersecting with 14th Street on the South and 13th Street,on the North in Block 146 of the Original Town of Lubbock, Texas and being all of the North-South Alley as platted in Block 146 of the Original Town of Lubbock, Texas. SECTION 2. THAT the Seerstary Treasurer of the City of Lubbock, Texas shall attest such Quit-Claim Deed affixing the seal of the City of Lubbock, Texas thereto. Clifton, City Manager City of Lubbock .Lubbock, Texas Dear Mr. Clifton: The Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma Coaches, Inc. and The Baker Company, a partnership, hereby requests that the north-south alley in Block 146, original townsite, city of Lubbock, between 13th and 14th Streets be closed. These two companies own the entire block and therefore would not involve any other property owner, and it is our opinion that the closing of this alley would in no way affect the general public. The present utility lines would not be disturbed or affected through this action and we would, of course, agree that an easement be retained for the benefit of the public service companies and agencies finding it necessary to operate service lines in or across this property. For your information, we are attaching hereto an engineering plat which will give you a general idea of the overall plan we expect to use which we feel will be most beneficial to both the public and our companies in the use and operation of this property. It would be appreciated if you will have this application processed in the usual manner and referred to the City Commission for its action as soon as possible.
