yTMMS, the Texas State Highway Department has advised the City of
Lubbock that the contract for the 4th Street portion of the Highway Dispersal
System from Avenue Q to Avenue D is scheduled for letting during October 1954, and,
WHEREAS, all of the right of way has been acquired for this project
with the exception of that required for the 13 foot curb radius at the Northwest
corner of Avenue H and 4th Street, and,
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this comparatively small amount of right
of way will necessitate the relocation of a service station and other businesses
at this location at an expense out of proportion to the benefits derived,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM4ISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the City Commission hereby requests the State Highway Department
to construct a 6 foot radius at this location which will provide sidewalk space
behind the curb, with the understanding t1lat when the additional right-of-way
on the west side of Avenue H is acquired that the City will bear the cost of
installing a 13 foot, radius at this location.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
