W H E R E A S, an adjustment and new policy has been established with
ref-,e,. ,r,J_ erence to handling City-County Welfare :Funds and Lubbock County is to administer
said Fund through an office or department to be set up and established and' adm-
inistered under the control of the Commissioner's Court of Lubbock County, ; said
office to maintain all records, make all ;reports and employ. thepersonnel as
recommended, substantially by the Cit'-County Welfare Board; and,
WHEREAS, the County has agreed to limit expenditures substantially
in accordance with estimates made by the City-County Welfare Board; and,
W Ii v R E A S, the City of Lubbock, acting through its City Corrmiission,
2�•�,P�' �y in the public interest desires to cooperate with the County jointly by malting
,,,its stipulated contribution for handling the administrative costs and for 1properly
-providing funds for the nature of work undertaken for indigent people and their
G� care; and.. .
W H E R E A S, the City Commission considers the City of Lubbockts !con-
tribution as hereinafter stated to be a fair, reasonable and equitable coniribu-
,� tion for the particular work, considered in the light of other participation and

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the City of Lubbock will pay to the County of Lubbock
for the benefit of the City-County Belfare Fund, thirty-five (35%) per cent of
the total annual budget established for this purpose by the County,which will
disburse all such funds.
SECTION 2. When the County has advised the City the amount of the budget
the City will begin to make contributions to this Fund bi-monthly in advance.
SECTI07 3. The City reserves the right only to audit the use of the funds
contributed by it.
SECTION 4. It is understood that in the event the budget is to be suppleme t
at any time, the City must approve any such supplements before it will be res-
ponsible for making any contribution to the funds to be added to the Fund by the
proposed supplement, which would increase the annual budget adopted by thel, County.
On motion of Com-missioner Carpenter , seconded by Commissioner
Thomas , the foregoing -Resolution was passed on this, the 27 _ day of
