HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 041454A - Cancel Auditorium-Coliseum Project Bids On 3 Construction Contracts - 04_14_1954 s e , �d•'yra;o 7" R ° E- S `O L `U •T I ON WHEREAS , at a recessed.'regular meeting of the City Commission at its regular meeting place,on April 7. 1954, the City Commission, as reflected by its Minutes in Book '12 pages 471 and 472, voted to award the Copy to general construction contract, the mechanical contract and the electrical City Attiy contract to the lowest bidders, B '.M F P Construction Company, the & McKinley Company and the Charles Nelson Electric Company, respectively, Lynn Andrewg such .bids having been received in accordance with the 'authorization of the City Commission on March 12, 1954, as reflected by its minutes in Book 12, page 422, concerning the advertisement for bids on the Auditorium-Coliseum project, the motion voted °upon to so award said contracts being subject to the changes., alterations, omissions and substitutions set forth in the City Commission Minutes mentioned above in Book 'IZ at page 471-472, and having been negotiated for with the low bidder on the general construction contract in order to bring the total cost of the construction project within the funds available; and, WHEREAS , the City,Commission finds that the changes so made in the original plans.and 'specifications are of such a nature that to award the contracts subject to these.changes would invalidate such.eontracts, and the City Commission finds that itlwould be in the interest of the public to re- submit,the plans and specifications for the project to competitive bidding and rescind the previous action and to 'reject all bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK- THAT the action of the City,Commission at its recessed regular meet- ing April 7, 1954 in voting to award the,general construction contract on the Auditorium-Coliseum project to B M F P Construction Company, the mechani- cal contract to the McKinley Company, and the electrical contract to the Charles Nelson Electric Company, as set forth in Book 12, pa.ge 471-472 of the City Commission-Minute Records to which reference is here made, BE and the same is hereby cancelled' revoked and rescinded,- and all bids on the three (3) separate contracts submitted'In accordance with'the authorization of the - City Commission March lZ, 1954, as :shown 'in Book 1Z, page 422 of the Minute Records, are hereby in all things rejected, and all bidders shall be so notified.
