HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 070953A - Street Improvements - Warren And Purtell Inc - GWO 675 - 07_09_1953 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IPROMENTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDEP?CE OF ASSESSIMTTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement �a Ct ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with Warren and Purtell, Inc rL (G.W.O. 675) for the making and construction of street improvements on portions ., of numerous streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: Avenue L from its intersection with the South Property Line of 29th Street to its intersection with the North Property Line of 30th Street, known and designated as Unit No. 1344. 9th Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of Avenue G to its intersection with the W. Rail of P & S.F. 'Industry,track at Avenue F, known and designated as Unit No. 1349. 2nd Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Canton Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Detroit Avenue, known and desig— nated as Unit No,.' 1353. 2nd Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of Gary Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Hartford Avenue, known and designated as Unit No. 1354. Avenue S from its intersection with the South Property Line of 4th Street to the North Property Line of 5th Street, known and designated as Unit No. 1394. 43rd Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Akron Avenue, known and designated as Unit No. 1404. Grinnell Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of North Elgin Avenue to its intersection with the East Property Line of North Flint Avenue, known and designated as Unit No. 1417. Emory Street, East Property Line of Burleson and Osborn Addition to the South— westerly paving line of Clovis Road, known and designated as Unit No. 1424. AND WHEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementioned streets and avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract (GWO 675). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned streets and '" avenues be, and the same are hereby accepted. CLICASBA That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portion of streets and avenues listed above and against the owners of such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to write a letter releasing money held in escrow to be paid the contractor for improvements where abutting property was not assessed.
