RESOLUTION OF CITY CO1*1ISSION OF
CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS
THE STATE OF TEXAS
CITY OF LUBBOCK
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK
Gr�z�F-L At a meeting of the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas,
held this day with five members present, among other business transacted,
the following action was taken:
ri tr � Mr. Morris introduced the following resolution:
✓ W[iEREAS, Senate Bill No. 126 creating the "Canadian River Municipal
Ie Water Authority_" as passed by the Regular Session of the 53rd Legislature
� of Texas has now become law and it being among other things therein pro—
vided that all constituent cities of such District:,having a population of
10,000 or more according to the preceding Federal Census shall be entitled
to two members on the Board of Directors to be elected by the governing
body of such cities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has a population of 10,000 or more
according to the preceding Federal Census and is therefore entitled to
two members on the Board of Directors of said District; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid law further provides that to be qualified for
election to the Board'of Directors the person must be a qualified voter
and property owning taxpayer in the city from which he is elected and must
not be a member of the governing body or an employee of such city; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has determined upon the two members who it
finds to be qualified as aforesaid and which it desires to officially elect
to the Board of Directors of the Canadian River Municipal Water.Authority;
therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
1. That 141r. J. Ray Dickey, a qualified voter and a property owning
taxpayer of the City of. Lubbock, who is not a member of the governing body
or an employee of such city, be, and he is hereby elected to the Board of
Directors of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority to serve to and
including July 31, 1954.
2. That Mr. Robt. E. Maxey, a qualified voter and a property owning
taxpayer of the City of Lubbock, who is not a member of the governing body
or an employee of such city, be, and he is hereby elected to the Board of
Directors of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority to serve to and
including July 31, 1955-
3. The Directors elected as aforesaid shall be certified to the
• Board of Directors of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority by {hP

Mayor of the City of Lubbock, Texas.
The above resolution having been read, the motion of Mr. Morris for
its passage was duly seconded by Mr. Davis. Thereupon, the Mayor put the
motion to a vote by the City Commission, and the motion carried by the
following vote "AYES": Mayor Tripp and Commissioners Morris, Carpenter,
Davis and Thomas; "NOES": None.
The Mayor declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted.

the Board of Directors of the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority
to serve to and including July 31, 1954, pursuant to resolution duly
passed and adopted by the City Commission of said City on the llth day
of June, 1953•
I FURTHER CERTIFY that Mr. Robt. E. Maxey, a qualified voter and
property owning taxpayer of the City of Lubbock, Texas, and who is not
a member of the governing body or an employee of such city, has been
elected to the Board. of Directors of the Canadian River Municipal
Water Authority to serve to and including July 31, 1955, pursuant to
