WHEREAS, the City Commission has heretofore found and now finds
that the East ten feet (E. 10') of the thirty feet (301) conveyed from George W.
Gray.to the City of Lubbock, contained in Volume 311, page 532 of the Deed
Records of Lubbock County, Texas, is not needed for public use, does not I
1s3 - serve any public purpos'e,and that there are no public utilities lying in such East

ten feet, and that it is in the public interest to close and abandon such property;
and,
W HEREAS, on April 7, 1949 a resolution was passed abandoning such
East ten feet (E. 101). such resolution being found in Volume 8, page 443 of the
Minute Book of the City of Lubbock. Texas, and then and thereafter Ordinance
'No. 911 was passed on two readings, the second of which was passed on the 12th
day of May, 1949, which ordinance abandoned and closed such East ten feet (E.10'
and authorized the Mayor to execute a relinquishment of any apparent interests
which the City might have had in such premises, both such resolution and ordin-
ance containing a correct description; and,
W HER EAS, an instrument conveying all the City's interest in and to
such East ten feet (E. 101) was executed and filed for record in Volume 377,
page 460 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, and such instrument
as written contained an erroneous description; and,
W HER EAS, the owner of such property, being George W. Gray, has
requested that a correction Quitclaim Deed be executed to him correctly des-
�^ cribing all that property heretofore abandoned and closed; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Correction
Quitclaim Deed to George W. Gray on all that property, being the East ten feet
tt. 101) of the thirty feet (301) conveyed from George W. Gray to the City of
Lubbock, contained in Volume 311, page 532 of the Deed Records of Lubbock
County, Texas, and being further described as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point 2,0001East and 1,370 feet South of the North-
west corner of Survey Seven (7). Block B, Lubbock County, Texas,
same being a point in the South property line of 23d Street, for the
Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE East along the South property line of 23d Street a distance
of ten feet (101),to a point, for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South along and on the West boundary line of a tract now
owned by George W. Gray, a distance of 290 feet to a point, for the
Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE West ten feet (10')to a point, for the Southwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE North parallel to and ten feet (101) West of a tract now
-owned by George W. Gray, 290 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.

Q U I T C L A I M D E E D
THE STATE OF TEXAS q
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
COUNTY OF LUBBOCK I
THAT the CITY OF LUBBOCK, a Home Rule Municipal Corporation, of the
County of Lubbock, State of Texas, by and through its officers heretofore duly
authorized by Resolution of the City Commission passed on the 28th day of May,
1953, for and in consideration of the sum of ONE AND NO/100 ($L00)DOLLARS to
it in hand paid by GEORGE W. GRAY of the County of Lubbock, State of Texas, the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents BARGAIN, SELL,
RELEASE and FOREVER QUITCLAIM unto the said GEORGE W. GRAY, his heirs
and assigns, all its right, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel
of land lying in the County of Lubbock and State of Texas, described as follows,
to-wit:
BEGINNING at a point 2,000 feet East and 1,370 feet South of the
Northwest corner of Survey Seven (7), Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas, same being a point in the South property line of 23d Street,
for the Northwest corner of this tract;
THENCE East along the South property line of 23d Street a distance
of ten (10) feet to a point, for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South along and on the West boundary line of a tract now
owned by George W. Gray, a distance of 290 feet to a point, for the
Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE West ten (10) feet to a point, for the Southwest corner of
this tract;
THENCE North parallel to and ten (10) feet West of a tract now owned
by George W. Gray, 290 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
The purpose of this instrument is to correct an erroneous description con-
tained in that certain conveyance from the City to George W. Gray filed in Volume
377, page 460 of the Deed Records of Lubbock County, Texas, which above described
strip has been duly and legally closed and abandoned, as shown by Ordinance No. 911
passed by the City Commission by two readings on April 29, 1949, and May 12, 1949.
