WHEREAS, the Recreation Council of the Department of Recreation

is no longer in existence, and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. E. N. Armstrong, Mr. George Brewer, Jr., Mr.
" t Ralph Bumpass, Mr, Floyd Honey, Mr. Joe :Moore, Mrs. John V. Powers and
Mr ., Fenner Tubbs while acting as members of the City Recreation Council,
have served the City of Lubbock in a diligent and tireless manner in the dis-
charge of their duties; and, `
I WHEREAS, thousands of children and adults have been provided with 1
wholesome recreation and. relaxation through the unselfish contribution of time
and.efforts by the said members of the City Recreation Council; and,
WHEREAS, it is desired by the City Commission to make record and
preserve in the archives of the City of Lubbock this monument of recognition of
public services rendered to the city of Lubbock by the members of the Recrea-
tion Council; THEREFORE,,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT, in appreciation for the work done by Mrs. E. N. Armstrong,
Mr. George Brewer, Jr,, Mr, Ralph Bumpass, Mr. Floyd Honey, Mr. Joe
Moore, Mrs.' John V. Powers and Mr ;. Fenner Tubbs, they publicly thank
them for their meritorious service rendered to the public, and especially the
people of the city of Lubbock, in their endeavors to promote clean, wholesome
entertainment and recreation for the enjoyment of the people of the city of
Lubbock.
On motion of Commissioner M�rrf n , seconded by Com
missioner Davis , the foregoing Resolution was passed.on
this the '12th day of March, 1953, by the following vote:
