HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 052252E - Property Owners Requesting Water Taps To Deposit The Cost- Cost Will Be Refunded - 05_22_1952 t522S2. raw RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the existing two-inch diameter water lines in the alleys of the residential districts of the City of Lubbock are not sufficient in size to properly deliver water to customers who require large volumes of water for operation of sprinkler systems, AND, WHEREAS, the abovementioned residential customers present this large demand principally during the summer months, and revenue derived therefrom is often not adequate to justify the City in paying the cost of installing these large lines; THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT.. any property owner requesting a one and one-half inch, or a two- inch water tap will be required to deposit the cost of laying a new line of sufficient size to serve the anticipated demand; said deposit to be refunded in ten (10) equal annual installments; said lines to become the property of the City of Lubbock upon installation. THAT, the City Manager is authorized to execute said contracts for the City of Lubbock, and to cause the establishment of the necessary sinking fund for repayment purposes. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
