HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 092851B - Paving Improvements - Warren & Purtell, Inc. - Several Units, GWO 584 - 09_28_1951 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING I11PROVEMTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES, AS LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESS— MENTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions, and entered into contract with Warren and Purtell, Inc. (GWO 584) for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: Cornell Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of Detroit Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 724. Auburn Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue (North) known and designated as Unit Number 766—B. lst Place from its intersection with the 'lest Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the East Property Line of Akron Avenue, known and designate as Unit Number 767—B. lst Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Akron Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 971—B. Colgate Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of. College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 975. Cornell Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 977. Boston Avenue from its intersection with the North Property Line of Cornell Street to its intersection with the South Property Line of Dartmouth Street, known and designated as Unit Number 978. Bates Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of Boston Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 992. Amherst Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Akron Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 1002—B. 2nd Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of College Avenue to its intersection with the East Property Line of Akron Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 1087. Dartmouth Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of Boston Avenue to its intersection with the East Property Line of Burleson-Osborn Addition, known and designated as Unit Number 1168. Harvard Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of Hartford Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Flint Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 1191. 1st Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of Gary Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Flint Avenue, known and designate as Unit Number 1238. lst Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Hartford Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Gary Avenue, known and designated as Unit Number 1239. 2nd Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Canton Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue, known and desig- nated as Unit Number 1275. AND W=M, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementione streets and avenues, have been completed and have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract. (GWO 584). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVa- BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned streets and avenues be., and the same are hereby, accepted. II. That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portion of streets and avenues listed above and against the owners of such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to write a letter releasing money held in escrow for improvements where abutting property was not assessed. III. This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
