RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Commission on the 27th day of November,
1950, authorized the Right�of-Way Agent to offer the sum of Eleven Thousand
One Hundred Fifty ,and No/100 ($11, 150. 00) Dollars to W. S. Cathey for the fol-
lowing described property in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
fronting on the East side of;Avenue A, and being Lots Three (3), Four (4),
Five (5) and Six (6), Block 190, Original Town of Lubbock, SAVE AND
EXCEPT that part heretofore sold to the Pecos and Northern Texas Railway
Company, and,
WHEREAS, on December 11, 1950, and January 11, 1951, J. A. Maynard
as agent for the City of Lubbock, offered to W. S. Cathey the sum of Eleven
Thousand One Hundred Fifty and No/100 ($11,150. 00)'Dollars for said tract of
land to be used for highway urposes, and the said W. S. Cathey refusedAo
accept such offer for said tract of land, including all improvements situated
thereon, and the City Commission considered such offer to be fair and in all
things reasonable, and it further appears that any further effort to agree with
Cthe said W. S. Cathey on the put-chase price or damages in connection there-

'r4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ';CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

•W THAT the City Attorney BE, and he is hereby authorized and directed
w to file condemnation proceedings against said tract of land described in the
preamble of this Resolution,'; for title thereto, against the said W. S. Cathey
and all other persons having',an interest in said property, the same being
required for the opening, extension and widening of Avenue A between 17th
Street and Broadway.
