R E S O L U T I O N
kHEREAS, the City Commission, in their regular meeting of April
26, 1951, Minutes of record at Page 90-91, Minute Book 10, accepted proposals
Of Blackwell Mattress Company, J. D. Jones, and Henry DeLaven, for widening
of Texas Avenue from 19th Street `'outh to its intersection with Avenue H at
30th Street, and
VJIFtEAS, these proposals, as mentioned above, provide that certain
improvements be moved off the right-offaway,
NOL,T THr`ItEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, TEXAS, THAT
The City Manager and Director of Public Works are hereby authorized
and instructed to immediately proceed with the moving of said buildings from
the right-of-way, as authorized by the minutes of the City Commission referred
to above, and to complete the transaction with John Halsey for the acquisition
of Lot 6, Block 2 May and Jones Subdivision to the City of Lubbock as author-
ized by the City dommission on April 26, 1951, as per minutes of record at
Page 90. Minute Book 10, and proceed with construction of 82 Foot Wide pave-
ment on Texas Avenue from 19th Street south to its inter sectioh with Avenue H
at 30th Street. It being understood that some property owners have not dedi-
cated the right-of-way necessary for the construction of 82 foot wide pavement
and that it will be necessary to leave out the widened pavement in front of
said locations where the right-of-way has not been dedicated for the widen-
ing of Texas Avenue from 19th Street South to its intersection for the vaden-
ing of Texas Avenue from 19th Street South to its intersection with avenue H
at 30th Street.
Passed and approved this the 24th day of May, 1951.
