I-FL REAS, The Governing Body of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
ordered that portions of the streets and avenues be improved by widening,
grading, filling,, installing concrete curb and gutter and paving with caliche
base and quadruple. asphalt surface together with incidentals and an�l.rtenances,
and agrangormants therefore have been merle and entered into by the City of
Lubboc'; , Texas, with J. R. Fanning, Contractor, and,

City Engineer to prepare and file estimates of the amounts per front foot
proposed to be assessed against abutting :pro�-,erty and the oimers thereof,
and such estimates have been prepared and e7canii.ned;

The Governinc; Body of the City of Lubbock has heretofore ordered that the
following portions of streets and avenues in the City of Lubbock, Texas, be
improved and widened by raising, grading, and filling and by paving and
installing concrete curb and gutters and storm sewers and drains where necessary
on streets and avenues designated below:
It is hereby found and determined that the cost of improvements on such
portions of streets and avenues with the amount or amounts per front foot to
be assessed for such improvements against the abutting property and owners
thereof, on the portions of said streets and avenues are as follows, to wit:
Avenue 11from its intersection with the South Gutter.Line of 7th Street to its
intersection with the North Gutter Lire of Main Street, known and designated
as Unit Nunber 903, the estimated cost of improvements is �21,445.55; the
estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against the abutting ;property
and owners thereof for improvements is ?5.23, for front abutting property.
Avenue 11from its intersection with the South Gutter Line of Bain Street to its
intersection with the Yorth Gutter Line of Broadway, '-.mown and designated as
Unit lyunber 903—A, the estimated cost of improvements is �05,175.32; the
estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against the abutting ? -1-07erty and
owners thereof for improvements is e�5.15, for front abutting property.
Avenue J from its intersection with the North Property Line of 9th Street, to
its intersection with the South Gutter Line of 6th Street, known and designated
as Unit Iiumber 1185, the estimated cost of improvements is i?*15,41,0.35; the
estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against the abutting pro-:,erty

the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against the abutting prop—
erty and owners thereof for improvements is )3.19, for front abutting property.
Avenue K from its intersection with the North Gutter Line of 9th Street to
its intersection with the South Gutter Line of 8th Street, 7no,•m and designated
as Unit Number 1190—B, the estimated cost of improvements is 3)331.92;
the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against the abutting prop—
erty and owners thereof for improvements is '3.20, for front abutting property.
And arrangements for the makinn- and construction of such improvements
with pavement' of quadruple course asphalt surface treatment (inverted
penetration type) and a six (6) inch caliche base has been made and entered
into by the City of Lubbock, Texas, and rolls or statements showinn the pro—
posed amounts to be assessed against abutting property and the o,aners thereof
have been filed with the City, such rolls or statements showin other matters
and things, and have boon approved, and the City Con�ission of said City has
fixed a time and place for hearing to the owners of property abutting; upon said
portions of streets and avenues and to all other s affected, at which hearing

the amounts to be assessed against the respective parcels of abutting land
and the owners thereof for the improvements in the Unit upon which the
particular parcels of property abut, the amounts of benefits to the respective
parcels of property by means of the improvements in the Unit upon which
the particular property abuts, the regularity of the proceedings with reference
to such in rovements, the apportionment of the cost of such improvements, and
other things and matters will be determined and after such hearings,
assessments will by ordinance be made and levied, and such hearing will be had
and held by and before the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Tex_ac, in
regular commission meeting room in the City Ball in the City of Lubbock, TeXas,
on the 3rd day of May, 1951 at 2:00 P. I. otclocic The rolls or statements
showing the proposed amounts of such assessments are on file in the office
of the City Secretary and copies thereof are in the office of the City I.ngineer
of the City of Lubbock and open to inspection of any interested parties at
any time, ana of all said matters and things all such owners of property

publication of such notice shall be due and sufficient notice to am and all
persons, firms, corporations and other parties.

That a hearing be given ,and held by and before the Governing Body of
the. City of Lubbock, Texas, to all persons owning or claiming any pro;nort,r
abutting any part or portion of said, streets described in Section II of this
resolution, as reel]- as all owning or claiming any interest in any such property.
Such hearing shall be given -and held on the 3rd day of l.ay, 1951 at 2:00 P.I.1.

retary is hereby directed to give notice of the time and place of. Such hearing,
and of other matters and facts in accordance with the terms and provisions of
an Act passed at the first called session of the 40th Legislature of the
State of Texas and known as Chapter 106 of the Acts of said Legislature which
has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City
of Lubbock, Texas. Such notice shall be by advertisement inserted at least
three (3) times in a newspaper published in Lubbock, Texas; the first publication
shall be r?arie at least ten (10) days before the said hearing. Said notice shall
coraply with an-d be in accordance with the terms and provisions of tai_s resolution
and saicz act. `
