RESOLUTION
I
WHEREAS, since about the year 1931, it has been a
policy of the several City Commissions and City Managers
and Engineering Department of the City of Lubbock to replace
if all galvanized watar pipe with cast iron or copper or
transite in streets and alleys prior to the construction of

/:_7�111J.'g 111HEREAS, for the last several years it has been the policy
to construct all proposed underground utilities in streets and
. alleys prior to the construction of paving, and
d a_(14 I 1VHi�REAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock in
c June 1949, authorized the purchase of 5000 linear feet of 4"
cast iron pipe with the understanding that this size pipe
would be used henceforth as service lines in all business
llr1�.... areas instead of the 2" size formerly used.
NOW THE=OREI on; all streets and alleys in the process
II of being paved, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock,
authorizes and instructs the City Manager of the -City of
Lubbock to replace all galvanized pipe with cast iron, copper,
or transite, and to, as well as can be forseen, construct all
proposed underground utilities and to replace all 211 pipe
regardless of material, with 6" or 4" cast iron, copper or
transits wherein the judgment of the-City Manager, this size
pipe will be required to adequately serve the adjacent property
and the City Manager is requested to submit estimates of the
cast of this work in order that an appropriation can be made to
cover the cost of this work.
