HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 110845B - Agreement - Panhandle & Santa Fe Railway Co. - Power Line On Railway's Property - 11_08_1945 108 45 D RESOWTION BE IT IGTMN that on this the 25 day of Oct. , 1945, at a regular meeting of the City Commission of the `'ity of Lubbock, Texas, there came on to be considered the matter of the execution of an agreement between the said City of Lubbock, Texas, and Panhandle and Santa lie Railway Company, relating to a power line on and across Railway Company's property from Mile Post 0 plus 1057.4 feet, whereupon the following proceedings were had: ` It was moved, seconded and unanimously voted that O.W. Aibble, Mayor, be authorized and empowered to execute on behalf of the "ity of Lubbock, Texas, such agreement, cony of which is hereto attached, and the same be recorded in the Minutes of the City Commission at the foot of this resolution. (This being crossing on 2nd Street, of Electric Power Line, between Avenue L and Avenue M) . Motion by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Trice, carried unanimously, bonds as follows were approved and ordered filed: R.L. (Bob) Knowles - General Contractor's Bond Max Tidmore, dba Tidmore Construction Company, General Contractor's Bond Wm. A. Vaughan - General Contractor's Bond A.E. Oliphitt - Eond for Moving a Building Geo. E. Newton a G.D. Coffey - Sub Contractor's Bond Baker Fleming Flash 0 Gas "o. - Gas Fitter's Bond $ids as follows were read on Service Aerial Fire Truck: Seagraves Corporation - Seagraves 65' Service Aerial Truck �18,740.00 Americal La France Foamite Corp. , Am-La France - 85' Service Aerial Truck 18,600.00 Peter Pirsch & Sons Co. ,-Pirsch 85' Service Aerial Truck 16,350.00 There was discussion, and the bids taken under consideration. There was discussion of receiving bids for construction of the engine foundation in the new power plant building for the Nordberg engine and motion was madd by "ommissioner 1-rice, seconded by Commissioner Jones, carried unanimously, that the Mayor and City 'manager be authorized to secure bids on this work and authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the bidder submitting, the bid which seems to be most advantageous to the `'ity's interest. No further business coming_ up for consideration, the City Commission adjourned. Read and approved this the 8th day of Nov, , 1945. --Mayor Attest: / City Secr tary.
