STATE OF TMtM j C IVI OF LUBBOCK
TO
A
LUBBOCK COUNTY j MRS. SYLVA B. dHEELOCK
BE IT R-1 . 11BERED that on thi s the loth day of November 1937,
at a Regular Meeting of the City Comission of the City of fubbook,
Texas, a quorum being present, it was made known to the said City
Commission by the City Tax Assessor of Lubbock, Texas, that the
following described strip of land has never been rendered to the
City of Lubbock for purpose of taxation, said strip being described
as follows:
Fart of Survey One (1) , Block 0, and being
a strip off of the east aide thereof, in
Lubbock County, Texas, de oribed as follows:
BEGINTJIYn at the North Off ner of Block 18
in the Original Town or Lubbock, Texas; Tienoe
south with the east line of Block 16, and to
the southeast corner of Block 16, in the
original Town of Iubbock; 'Llienoe east an
approxiri<;te distance of 20.45 feet to the east

east line of said section to a point in said
east line due east of the Northeast corner of said

27.6 feet to the Northeast corner of said Block 16.
It appears that Mrs. Sylva B. Wheelock, a widow,
claims to be the owner of said tract and desires to sell all
her right, title and interest therein. It also appears that
there is a claim that said strip constitutes an alley, and
is not private property, and not subject to taxation, and
never has been. Because it has been claimed said strip is
a public allfay, it has Haver been rendered or assessed for
taxes. U further appears that if anyone is the owner of
said property, subject to such easement, it is Mrs. Sylva B.
'7heelook. In order to give her a clear title, so far as the
City of Lubbock is concerned, with reference to taxation
a nd to remove further doubt, the City Commission of the 6ity
of Lubbock, Texas, acting as a Board of Equalization under
the statute, hereby assesses said property at a value of
for each of the years since the City of Lubbock
