RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute
for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Grant Agreement Contract No. 16787 by and
between the City of Lubbock and the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc., for grant funds for the
construction of a Downtown Civic Park and related documents. Said Agreement is attached
hereto and incorporated in this resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in
the minutes of the City Council.

The Helen Jones Foundation, Inc. met on June 2, 2022 and approved a grant
of $500,000.00 to the City of Lubbock. The grant will support the construction of a
downtown park located at 1301 Broadway.
Two copies of our grant contract are enclosed to be signed by an officer of
the Grantee. One is for your files while the other is to be returned to the Helen
Jones Foundation, Inc. no later than September 1, 2022. For the check to be
issued the contract has to be returned. The grant will be paid in January of 2023. A
final report of the project will be turned into the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc.
office by December 31, 2023.
By the decision made by the Helen Jones Foundation, Inc. Inc. board of
directors funding for this project has ended. The board has decided to fund
$1A00,000.00 for the park.

The Helen Jones Foundation, Inc. met on June 2, 2022 and approved a grant
of $500,000.00 to the City of Lubbock. The grant will support the construction of a
downtown park located at 1301 Broadway.
We must be assured that our grant will be used exclusively to carry out the
project described in the application. Therefore, there shall be no administrative
fee, investment fee, or earned income profits from the grant utilized to support
programs other than the project described. Please signify your agreement to this
policy by returning the enclosed copy of this contract by September 1, 2022,
signed by an officer of the Grantee. If you do not return the contract by September
1, 2022 then our offer to make this grant is withdrawn. The grant will be paid in
January of 2023. A final report of the project will be turned into the Helen Jones
Foundation, Inc. office by December 31, 2023.
