to execute and deliver to the Contractor certificates in evidence of the
assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said
portions of Texas Avenue, and against the owners of such property in She
manner provided in said contract, and the proceedinza with reference to
said improvements and assessments.
Ill.
That the said bonds, together with the surety thereon, be and the
same are hereby in all respects accepted and approved.

This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.

Maintenance The bonds referred to in above resolution dated May 19th, 1927, in
Bonds favor of the City of Lubbock, signed by the Panhandle construction %,om-
pany, principal, and the Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Company, of New
York, as surety. The bond covering maintenance and repair on Unit No. 1
is for the sum of $1068.56 and the bond covering maintenance and repair
on Unite No. 2 is for the sum of $1643.17.
Upon Motion by Mr. Weaver. seconded by Mr. Posey, carried unani° ously,
the following resolution was adopted:
"RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IMPROVEMENTS ON PORTIONS OF AVENUE "G" AND EIGHT
STREET, AND APPROVING LAINTENANCE BONDS, AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE pF
CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED".
WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, heretofore entered into contract with
Panhandle Construction Company for the making and construction of street
improvements on portions of numerous streets and places in said City,
including among others, the following:-
AVENUE "G", from its intersection with the North property line of
loth Street, to its intersection with the center line of 8th Street,
known and designated as Unit or District No. 3.
EIGHTH STREET, from its intersection with the East property line of
Avenue "H", to its intersection with the center line of Avenue, "G",
known and designated as Unit or District No. 4.

�YH3RFSAS, the improvements upon the said portions of Avenue 'G" and
Eighth Street, have been completed and have been inspected and found to
have been constructed in accordance with the terms of said contract; and,
WHEREAS, said Panhandle Construction Company has this day filed with
the City its bond for the Maintenance and repair of such improvements in
accordance with Paragraph Xll of said Contract, and such bonds, together
with the Surety thereon, have been examined and approved.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:

That the improvements on said portions of Avenue "G" and Eighth
Street be and the same are hereby accepted.

That the Mayor and City Secretary be and they are hereby instructed
to execute and deliver to the Contractor certificates in evidence of the

portions of Ivmue "G" and Eighth Street, and against the owners of snob

property in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings
with reference to said improvements and assessments.

IV.
This Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after
its passage.

Co. Unit No. 3 is in the sum of $1259.59, and the bond covering maintenance
and repair on Unit No. 4 is in the sum of 4559.68.
Upon motion by Mr. Weaver. seconded by Mr. Posey, the City
Cormission recessed until 4 PM, Monday, May 23rd, 1927.

The City Commission met at 4 P.M. in regular session recessed from May

J. 0. Jones and J. H. Hankins, City Secretary G. d. McCleary.
