AMENDED RESOLUTION.
A Resolution tb `amend the Sidewalk 'Resolution passed by the City
Council of the City of Lnbhock, Texas, on the j2- Z _hay of ,
A.D. I9II.
Be it resolved by the City Councii of the City of Luhhock,
Texas, that sail Side hk Resolution passel by the City Council of
the City of Lubbock, Texas, on the , P. Z-f dsy of
be and the same is hereby amended as to read as follows, to-wit:-
Whereas, heretofore, to-wit, on the 8th day of May, A.D.I9II9
there was presentad to the City Council of the City of Lnbboek, Texas,
a petition signed by W.S. Posey and others owning property affected
by said petition, asking that the said City Council build, or have
built, a sidewiik, or sidewalks, on the North side of :forth First
Street from where the Post Office is now located on the Southeast
corner of Block No. I03 to the Passenger Depot of The Pecos & Northern
Texas -Railway Company located on Block No. I08, and it appearing to
said City Council that said sidewalk and other sidewalks hereinafter
mentioned are badly needed; therefore, by virtue of the authority
veat3d in the C ty Council by the General Sidewalk Ordinance, 'being
Ordinance No , passed by the City Council of the City of Lu"b-
bock, Texas, on the day of„"�A.D.I9II :-
BE IT RESOLVED 'by the City Council of the City of Lubbock,
Texas, that it is hereby made t'_le duty of the owners of the following
described property to '"build sidewalks *adjoining or abutting on their
property as hereinafter set out.
THE AIDTH.-The said. sidewalks are to he built fourteen ( 14) feet
wide, the inner side, or side next the pronarty, to conform to the
property line. The outer edge, or side next the street, to conform
to the outer edge of thia curb as said curl is hereinafter described.,
and said sidewalks shall "be "built to conform to the following re-
quirements:
BASE.-- The Base (or Concrete) shall be four (4) inches thick
and shall be composed of one part of bast Portland Cement, by measure,
to two parts of screened, sharp clean sand, and four parts of crushad
stone .or washed gravel, frea from dust, dirt or coal and not more
than one (I) inch in its greatest diameter.
U►.DKRING SUR_FAOE.-- The wearing strface (or dressing) shall 'be
of a thickness of one ( I ) in3h, composed of two ( 9) parts, by measure,
of bast Portland domment and three ( 3) parts of good sharp, clean
sand, or fine1 rushed -qz substantial stone or granite, properly screened
through one-fourth inch mesh screen. The wearing Surface shall be
carried up simultaneously with the base (or concrete) and '4efore the
bass (or concrete) can set. All walks shall be out through the con-
crete in )looks four (4) feet two ( 2) inches by tour feet eight inches
or as near thereto a9 practicable. 1henever it becomes necessary
for these dimensions to be varied, permission to do so rmst ba ol*,-
tained from the, Mayor or his duly atithorized agent.
CURB.--The curb shall be eonstructsd in a solid mass, divided
clear through to conform with the divisions of the sidewalk along
which it may be constructed, and the concrete shall be composed of
the same materials, similarly proportioned and laid as a"bove set out
for the ooncrate of the walks.
.Facing.--A facing of one (I) inch, composed of the-same materials ,
proportioned and laid as a"bove 99t out for the wearing surface of the
sidewalks shall be laid on the tdp and street face of said c+xrb for
a dists.nce of eight ( 8) inches from the top of said curl), When com-
pleted the cur') ahall be six ( 8) inches thick and Twenty-one ( 3I ) iftchbs
