HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2022-R0332 - Extendng Downtown Parking Task Form TermResolution No. 2022-R0332 Item No. 5.22 July 26, 2022 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on April 13, 2021 through Resolution No. 2021-0136, the City Council of the City of Lubbock (the "City Council") approved a professional services agreement with WGI, Inc. (the "Consultant") of Houston, Texas to perform a comprehensive downtown parking study (the "Study"); WHEREAS, on April 26, 2022 through resolution No. 2022-R0215, the City Council created the Downtown Parking Task Force (the "Task Force") for the purpose of working with City staff to review the Study and make recommendations to the Central Business District Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zone Board (the "CBDTIF Board") and the City Council regarding a project implementation matrix to identify specific needs in downtown for each downtown zone and recommend the proper timing for addressing those needs; and WHEREAS, the initial term of the nine -member Task Force was set at four (4) months from the date of the first Task Force meeting, unless otherwise extended by City Council; and WHEREAS, the Task Force now requests additional time to complete its review and prepare its recommendations to the CBDTIF Board and City Council; and NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT, the City Council agrees to extend the initial Task Force term in order to provide the Task Force adequate time to complete the tasks assigned to it by City Council; and THAT the term of the Task Force is hereby extended to March 31, 2023 by which time the Task Force shall make its final recommendations as commissioned to the CBDTIF Board and City Council.
