HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2019-R0061 - Comprehensive Plan & Appointments - 02/25/2019Resolution No.2019-R0061 Item No.7.28 February 25,2019 RESOLUTION WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Lubbock (the "City Council")adopted a revised Comprehensive Plan (the "Plan")for the City of Lubbock on December 17,2018 through Ordinance No.2018-00141 in order to promote the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Lubbock, Texas and to promote sound,long-range planning and development;and WHEREAS,the City Council desires to create a committee,to be named the Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee (the "Committee"),that shall work with city staff, consultants, and leaders to ensure effective, thorough, and timely administration of the newly adopted Plan; and WHEREAS,the Committee will be informed by staff and consultants concerning the progress of Plan implementation throughout the various stages and projects that comprise the Plan;and WHEREAS,the Committee will report to the City Council on an annual,or otherwise regularly scheduled, basis regarding the progress and accomplishments of the Plan implementation, as well as any other relevant matters regarding Plan implementation; and WHEREAS,the City Council now desires to appoint to the Committee members, comprised of individuals representing various neighborhoods, industries, professions, and other stakeholders within the City of Lubbock to oversee Plan implementation, who are named in Exhibit "A" attached to this resolution and as set forth and incorporated fully herein;NOW,THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby creates the Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee to work with City staff and consultants throughout the Plan implementation process;and THAT the Committee shall be comprised of at-large members representing various neighborhoods,industries,professions,and other relevant stakeholders throughout Lubbock;and THAT meetings of the Committee shall be advisory in nature, and a quorum of the Committee shall be four members,and a majority vote of the quorum shall be required for any action to be taken by the Committee.All meetings and procedures of the Committee shall be consistent with the policies of the City of Lubbock concerning advisory boards and commissions.The City Manager of the City of Lubbock,the City Attorney of the City of Lubbock, and other City staff, or their designees, may attend all meetings of the Committee,and shall serve as a resourceto the Committeeas requested; and No Text EXHIBIT A Members to eomprise the City of Lubbock's Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee shall be as follows: Chair - John Zwaieher Dan Wilson A.J.
