Z097 SQUARE MILES OF LAND LYING SUBSTANTIALLY SOUTHEAST OF AVENUE A AND 50TH STREET AS DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDIN- ANCE; PROVIDING FOR EXTENSION OF THE CITY LIMITS AND CORPOR- ATE BOUNDARIES TO ANNEX THE AREA; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND FINAL PASSAGE UNDER PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3-A, ARTICLE,T, CHAPTER ONE OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, AND EX- TENDING THE CITY LIMITS TO INCLUDE SAID AREA, W HER EA S , the Commission finds that the area hereinafter described is in line of development, growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock, that its annexation has been requested, and the Commission further finds that annexation of the described area will be in the best interest of public health, morals, safety and general welfare, and the Commission is authorized to annex the same under those Charter provisions; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; SECTION 1. That the following described area abutting and adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock in Lubbock.County, Texas, des- cribed by metes and bounds, to -wit; BEGINNING at a point on the present City Limits line, said point being Z89.9 feet East of the Northwaat corner of Survey 1, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE East along the North line of said Survey 1, Block E, a distance of Z379.9 feet, more or less, to a point 30 feet East of the Northeast corner of the Northwest 1/4 of said Survey 1, Block E; THENCE South 30 feet East of and parallel to the East line of said Northwest 1/4, Survey 1, Block E, a distance of 2640 feet, more or less, to a point 30 feet East of the Southeast corner of said North- west 1/4 of Survey 1, Block E; THENCE West along the South line of said Northwest 1/4 Survey 1, Block E, a distance of 2670 feet, more or less, to the Southwest corner of said Northwest 1/4 Survey 1, Block E; THENCE North along the West line of said Northwest 1/4 of Survey 1, Block E, a distance of 1426 feet, more or less, to a point on the present City Limits linel THENCE Northeasterly along the present City Limits line to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. Containing 0. 2097 square miles. BE, and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. 1 c j SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily newspaper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time, and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form, the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, terri- tory and extension described in Section I (Orie) of this ordinance. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
