HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 023-1909 - Providing for the Levy and Collection of an Ad Valorem Tax - 09/14/1909ORDINANCE NO. 23 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF AN AD VALOREM TAR IN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1st, 1909, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31st, 1909, FOR THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, AND PURCHASE OF PUBLIC STREETS, SEWERS, AND OTHER PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID CITY AND FIXING THE RATE THEREFOR. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: Section 1. An ad valorem tax of twelve and one-half cents on the one hundred dollar valuation of taxable property within the City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby levied for the purpose of constructing, purchasing, and maintaining public streets, sewers, and other permanent improvements in the City of Lubbock, Texas. Said ad Valorem tax to be levied on the basis of property valuations in said City on the 1st day of July, 1909. Passed and approved this the 14th day of September 1909. F.E.
