A5 ORDINANCE CLOSIIG AND V~CATIIG THE ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND
SOUTH THROUGH BLOCK NO. 75, ORIGINAL TOWN OF tuBBOCK, LUBBOCY
COUNTY, TEXAS• FOR A DISTANCE OF 80 FEET AND DECLARING AN
EKERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
section 1, That in the interest of the publio welfare,
safety and benefit, the alley running Borth and South
through Block No. Se-yen.ty Fi·ve ( 75) of the Original Town o:t
~bboek, ~bbook County, Texas, tor a distance of Eighty (80)
teet, beginning at the Borth line ot said Block No. Seventy
Five (75), and extending to the right-of-way ot the Panhandle
' Santa Fe Railway oo., ought to be closed and ~aoated.
Seotion 2, Tbat said Alley to-wit: the alley running

Borth line of said Block lo. Seventy Five (75) and extend1.11!
South to the right-ot-way of the Panhandle & Santa Fe Rail-

of ~bbock; be and the same is herebJ abandoned, vacated and
oloaed to the public uae.
The faet that immediate action hereon will enable the
owner of said property ly1n.g on eaoh side ot said alley to
make improvements thereon, and to pre~ent the public from
the exposure of danger, and eliminate an unsafe and undesire-
able condition, oreatea an emersenoy and an imperati~e public
neoesa1t7, which requires that the rule for the reading of
an ordinance on three se~eral days, be suspended and said
rule is hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall be in
forse from and after its passage, ~

a corporation of the State of Texas, doing business in
Lubbock, Texas, respectfully shows to Your HOnors:
That petitioner is the owner of Block Bo. Se~enty
Five(1o), Original Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas,
according to the map thereof on file in the County Clerk'l
office of said county, with the exception of a tractional
part thereof, which is owned and used by the Panhandle art4
Santa Fe Railway Company. Your petitioner owns all of tha'
part of Block Bo. Seventy Five(75) mentioned above, lying
east of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway Company's tracks,
as same is shown upo4 the map of the City of Lubbock at
this tlme.
That an alley r\UlS liorth and South through said
Blook, beginning on the North line of said Block No. Se·venty
Five (75) on 8th Street, !hence South a distance of Eight7
(80) fe~t to the Panhanale and santa Fe Railway Companr•e
right of way; the preaent map of said City being here re-
ferred to for tu~ther description of said alley.
That petitioner desires and intends to ereot
upon said Block, bu i ldings, oil tanks, and other 1mpro~e
ments neoessars in carrying on the business of distributing
the products of said oompantt snd your petitioner further
shows that it is the owner in fee simple of all that part
of Blook Seventy Five (75), lying on the east side and the

gerous and hazardous to the publio welfare if said alloT

Texhoma Oil & Refining Company own that portion of Block 75 in
the original town of Lubbock, Lubbock county, Texas, not owned
by the Santa Fe Ry Co. that portion own by said Oil and Refining
Company being parts of Lots 1,2,3, and 15 to 20 inclusive, not
owned by said right or way, according to the plat hereto attached
indicated in RED INK. Which plat shows that said oil and Refining
company's property is located on east and west of alley running
north and south thru said Block 75, being the only alley shown
in said block.
