AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1695 AND THE OFFI-
PIZ
CIAL MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING
CHANGE: ZONE CASE NO. 1734: CHANGE LOTS 1, 211 45 AND 46, PLAINSMAN
ADDITION AND A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF SECTION 80 BLOCK E-2, LUBBOCK
COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM AN "RN1" TO AN "R-2" .ZONING DISTRICT; PROVID-
ING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in zoning districts as hereinafter made has
been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendatior.
hich was; received by the City Council and, after due consideration, the City
Council finds that making the proposed change as hereinafter set out will be in the
public interest and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to
he Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving
notices in compliance with Section 20 of Ordinance No. 1695 as well as notices pro-
vided. by Article 1011f, VernonTs Annotated Civil Statutes, amended in 1961, and
- otice was duly published in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche Journal more than fife
een (15) days prior to the date of the public hearing before the City Council on sucl-
proposed amendment, and the public hearing according to said notice was duly held
in the City Council Room on the second floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at
which time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, ii
was by the City Council determined that it would be in the public interest, due to
changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in
the manner hereinafter set forth in the body of this Ordinance and this Ordinance
aving been introduced prior to first reading hereof; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1 THAT Ordinance No. 1695 and the Official Zoning Map BE and
he same are hereby amendedas follows, to -wit:
ZONE =CASE NO. 1734
Change Lots 1, 2, 45 and 46, Plainsman Addition and a tract of land out
of Section 8, Block E-2, Lubbock County, Texas, from an "RW1" to an
1111.2" Zoning District. The tract of land being more fully described to -
wit:
A tract of land out of the Northwest One -Fourth (NW4) of Section Eight (8)
in Block E-2. Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas and described by metes
and bounds as follows.
BEGINNING at a 2" x 2" wooden stake at the Northwest corner of said
South 305 feet, which is in the West line of said Section 8, Block E-2,
and 1015 feet, South of the Northwest corner, of said Section 8, the
beginning corner and the Northwest corner of this tract,
THENCE East at 25 feet pass a 1" iron pipe, at 182" a 1" ;iron pipe, in
all 183 feet to a point, the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE South 150 feet to a point, the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE West at 1 ft. pass a 1" iron pipe, at 158" pass a 1" iron pipe,
in all 183 feet to a point in the West line of said Section 8., and along
the center line of a graded public road, 150 feet to the PLACE OF
BEGINNING.
SECTION 2, THAT from and after passage and effective date of this ordinanc
said lots, tracts and parcels of land described in Section 1 hereof shall be changed
o the zoning district indicated and the Official Map is amended in accordance
herewith.
SECTION 3, Should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
r``emainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4 THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publica-
