AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF ALLEY a
RIGHT-OF-WAY, LOCATED IN SECTION 41, BLOCK AK, JETLAND TERRACEo
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING
TO THE MAP, PLAT AND/OR DEDICATION DEED THEREOF RECORDED IN
VOLUME 598, PAGE 697, OF THE OFFICIAL DEED RECORDS OF LUBBOCK
COUNTY, TEXAS WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF r
THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL
MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; _
PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley right-of-way hereinafter described in
the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for alley right-of-way purposes and for public
use. and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley right-
of-way purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley right-of-way as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley right-of-way purposes and for public
use, such alley right-of-way being more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the
official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the
number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized
and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

Texas , being part of the alley South of Lots 16, 17 and 18, Jetland Terrace Addition as
shown by the plat thereof recorded in 598, Page 697, Lubbock County Deed Records
and further described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a found 1/2" iron rod with yellow cap (Hugo Reed), having Texas North
Central Zone Coordinates (NAD 83, 2011, Epoch 2010.0000) of North: 7274514.48,
East: 900369.72 for the Southeast corner of Lot 16, Jetland Terrace Addition and the
Northeast comer of this tract;
THENCE S 01 050'57" W(Texas North Central Zone Bearing Basis), 20.00 feet to a set
1/2" iron rod with green cap marked RPLS 4460 for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 88011'21" W, with the North line of Lots 21, 20 and 19, Jetland Terrace,
360.33 feet to a found 1/2" iron rod for the Southwest comer of this tract;
THENCE N 01°50'32" E, with the East line of F.M. 179, a distance of 20.00 feet to a set
1/2" iron rod with green cap for the Northwest comer of this tract;
THENCE S 88011'21" E, with the South line of Lots 18, 17 and 16, Jetland Terrace,
360.34 feet to the PLACE of BEGINNING and containing 0.166 acres including any
Right of Way.
