AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AS ONE-WAY STREETS A PORTION F
THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS• STREETS AND/OR PORTIONS OF ffiGHWAYS
AND STREETS IN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,.
LUBBOCK COUNTY• TEXAS. TO-WIT: THAT PORTION OF THE WEST SLDE
OF AVENUE 11L" BEGINNING AT THE 37TH STREET INTERSECTION AND.
EXTENDING SOUTH TO THE 42ND STREET INTERSECTION SHALL BE A ONE-
WAY STREET PERMITTING ONLY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC PROCEEDING SOUTH
ON SAID PORTION OF THE WEST SIDE OF AVENUE 11L"; AND THAT PORTION
OF THE EAST SIDE OF AVENUE 11L 11 BEGINNING AT THE 42ND STREET INTER
SECTION AND EXTENDING NORTH TO THE 37TH STREET INTERSECTION
SHALL BE A ONE-WAY STREET PERMITTING ONLY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC 11
PROCEEDING NORTH ON SAID PORTION OF THE EAST SIDE OF AVENUE "V';
AUTHORlZING THE PLACING OF SIGNS TO INDICATE THAT SAID PORTIONS
OF STREETS ARE ONE-WAY; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING THAT HIGHWAYS,.STREET
AND/OR PARTS OF lfiGHWAYS AND STREETS NOT SPECIFICALLY SET FORTH
HEREIN SHALL NOT BE AFFECTED BY THE PROVISIONS HEREOF AND THAT
THIS ORDINANCE BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL OTHER ONE-WAY STREET ORDI-
NANCES; PROVIDING A SAVING CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBUCA TION;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS., the City Commission finds that a public necessity exists be-
cause of new construction which requires that vehicular traffic be permitted to
travel in. only one direction on certain portions of streets which requires such
streets be designated as one-way streets; NOW~ THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT from and after the effective date of this On:iinance the
portion of the following stz:e:et in the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock•
Lubbock County, Texas shall be designated as a "One-way Street" and permit-
ting vehicular traffic to proceed in only one direction on such designated street1
described particularly as follows~ to-wit:
The West aide of Avenue 11 L 11 (West of the F. W. & D. C.
R.; R. Tracks) beginning at the 37th Street intersection and
extending South to the 42nd Street intersection shall be a
none-way Street" permitting only vehicular traffic pro-
ceeding South on said portion of the West side of Avenue "L".
SECTION 3. THAT from and after the effective date of this Ordinance the
portion of the following street in the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock~
Lubbock County., Texas, shall be designated as a "One-way Street11
7 and permit-
ting vehicular traffic .... to proceed in only one direction on such designated street,
described particularly as follows., to-wit:
The East Side of Avenue 11L 11 (Eas.t of the F. W. & D. C.
R.;R. Tracks) beginning at th4 42'n.d Street intersection and
extending North to the 37th Street intersection shall be a
"One-way Street11 permitting only vehicular traffic pro-
ceeding North on said portion of the East side of Avenue 11L 11•
SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized and directed to cause the
~ placing of signs and other traffic control facilities to indicate and control those
portions of Avenue 11L 11 described in Sections 1 and 2 hereof as one-way streets.
SECTION 4. Any person~ firm or corporation operating a vehicle in viola-
tion of the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction be punished by a fine

SECTION 5. THAT all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances conflicting with
any of the provisions hereof are hereby repealed insofar as such conflict exists.
SECTION 6. All Highwayll streets and/or parts of highway and streets not
specifically set forth in the preceeding sections hereof shall not be affected by
the provisions hereof., and this Ordinance shall be cumulative of all other 110ne-
wa y Str e et11 Ordinances except those with which it specifically conflicts.
SECTION 7. Should any section~ paragrap~ sentence, clause,. phrase or
word of this Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance
be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason~ the remainder of this Ordi
nance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 8. The City Secretary is authorized and directed to cause the
publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the penalty
provisions as an alternative method of publication, and this Ordinance shall be-
come effective ten (10) days after the date of its last publication.
